Thatās a weird stat. No team entering the World Cup ranked #1 has ever won the tournament.
Do you know why? Because rankings are bollocks.
Wifeās just told me that the feed from the Spain v Costa Rica match may have had the wrong flag for Costa Rica - apparently it used the Thai flag for at least some of it instead.
I mean this when I say Iād rather England win the World Cup then that little scrote getting his hands on a winners medal.
Tomorrow England and Wales play, a win for both mean that England is true and Wales take a big step. 
I donāt know about them being true, theyāll be through though.

England better turn up tomorrow. As an Englishman I have a strange relationship with the national team, from being well into it many years ago, to being let down so much that Iām indifferent.
And yet strangely, living in America and seeing everyone trying to big up a rivalry, I have gained clarity, at least for tomorrow.
England to show up, play hard, go for the jugular, and win 4-1, something like that would do me.
Then a stroll against our Welsh friends, to see both teams get what they need to advance.
Funny business, living abroad. Sometimes the circumstances align to remind you of who you are, and whose you are.
