Just read Ben White has been released from the England squad, anyone know why?
âPersonal reasonsâ

Thatâs how groups should end, none of this boring shit.
Glad there was a goal yellow cards would be embarrassing.
His 31st miss out of 136 pens. Does no one else in the team have a better conversion%?
Looking back at that disallowed Grizemann goal, lots of grief coming in for VAR but it shows what a mess theyâve made of the offside law that to make decision fit their description of the guidance they have forced officials to give offside on situations that few fans would agree should be offside. the rationale for giving it is that the defender did make a deliberate play at clearing the ball, but because he had to stretch to reach the header he didnt deliberately try to header it where he did. As he wasnt in control of that header (does that count for any header that is legally challenged by an onside attacker?) it doesnt count as resetting the play and so Griezemann is still offside.
First host nation to lose their first match
First host country to be eliminated after two games
First host country to finish last in its group
First host country to finish the group stage with 0 points
Historic World Cup performance from Qatar.
Interesting:
21 of Belgiumâs 26 players at the WC already have their UEFA A coaching licences.
Martinez says itâs all part of a plan going forward for the future.
I had a coach once who put the majority of us through the USSF D level coaching course as he thought it would help us get a better understanding of the things he was trying to accomplish with his training. I dont think it was universally successful, but it definitely added something valuable for some of us
As a matter of interest, what age were you please?
Early 20s. Why?
Hehe, you must have missed us away for a Champions League semi at Roma in 17/18, lol.
Would have been interesting if youâd have been 14-15 ish. Would have given an indication of the level of coaching. If you can learn what your coach knows at 14, not much of a training course. 20 obviously a different matter.
Good point v Roma. Relief and happiness after that one.
Itâs an absolute farce!!
JesusâŚnow France are complaining that the ref allowed Tunisia to kick off and disallowed the goal after the game restarted. That is clearly a violation of VAR (to overturn after the game has restarted), but also the rule clearly state a result will not be altered by a clear error of VAR protocol. France appear to be pushing hard to get the result voided and given a 1-1 draw, but it probably wont fly, in part because doing so would change nothing.
The courses were pretty remedial, and so what it covered was far below the level we played at and practiced at every day. The issue was more about trying to connect the drill to the reason it was being implemented, so the players could better parlay their success in the drills into real game situations. Seems absurd, but sometimes the talent that exists in players who thrive at a specific level means they havent had to think too hard about the game to be succesful at that level. The idea was if you can get people to go through the process of how to plan out training session with a view to improving some real game situation, it might help the players internalize the lessons of the training sessions they are put through a bit better.
In short, good coaches tend to be more coachable.
There was a period were we did something similar for a lot of our U/18âs, then used their time in the U/23âs to help coach local kids as the club knew that if they dropped out, they lost out on the time and investment they put into the kids, so this was seen as another way to help those that wouldnât make it at the club, as it gave them another feather in their cap - already a qualified and experienced coach in their early 20âs
Not to sure if we still do it or not.
The Mexico v Saudi Arabia game was brilliant. Saudi players were tenacious and never gave up. Really felt for Mexico though, they gave it their all. I think they have should have gone through rather than Poland.
