FIFA World Cup: Qatar 2022

How many people here will be watching matches or at least watch some of it? To do so is to make as strong a stance as the captains who have reneged on the OneLove armbands.

That’s the way to hurt FIFA. Watch none of it, let your disgust show through lower viewer numbers and hopefully the stadiums will look like the Emptyhad.

It has been taken hostage by a number of intolerant, sports-washing people who have too much money on their hands. These people happen to in part come from Qatar and other Gulf states. They are the reason why you see more and more distortion in English football at top level, and why we have that increasing feeling that our sport is taken away from us.

That’s why politic aspects and a broader critical point of view plays a big role in this world cup. Football is always a strong symbol of what happens otherwise in our societies. Football is being taken hostage and progressively distorted and hollowed out under our eyes, just like our economies are progressively being taken hostage, and how our societies might progressively be hollowed out from the inside. That of course is a much more discreet procedure.

But check for instance how many top banks have received investment from Gulf states. You’ll discover that a number of them have already been taken over at more than 50% of the shares. Same for key industries, lots and lots of land parcels everywhere etc. Not only in England, all over the world.

I repeat it again: these people have too much money on their hands, and thus, like with all too rich people, too much power. They have the means to eventually hollow out our western democracies if we don’t pay very close attention to what they are doing.

There is also the small matter of absolutely having to phase out the use of fossil fuels in the coming decades if we want to survive as a species. But they’ll obviously fight against it, with all they have. That is ultimately the biggest danger for us all.

Wear it round your ankle…

“Last night we met one of the sheiks sons and he took us to his palace”.

Did you just accuse me of being Harry Kane :sob:

Really hope someone gives the referee a decision to make and where’s the armband anyway. Will get all sorts of attention that FIFA don’t want.

Kane should wear it anyway. So what if he gets sent off? They should be able to beat Iran with ten men at a canter.

He’ll just claim he wore it anyway.

Yep. Another reason why this world cup will be the worst ever and Qatar22 is shitting on football. Can’t wait until this disgusting sportswashing obscenity is over and I see those shilling support for the hosts as Jaba al-Hutt level gross.

Wwwhhhaatt…!!!

Headband…

Back 4.

Prickford Trippier Stones Slabuire Shaw Rice Bellingham Mount Saka Sterling Kane

Pretty predictable, really.

Seems like England will try and repeat the same stuff from last Euro’s.

4 at the back in majority/smaller games, shift potentially to 3 at the back if it’s needed or there’s a big game.

Sterling and Mount are almost always in, Saka keeps his little advantage over Foden from the last tournament and the only real change is Bellingham in Phillips’ spot.

A few positions could still change depending on form, like Foden started the last tournament but then Saka pushed him out of the side.
