Florian WIRTZ: 2025/26

I’ve said it before , he’s gonna be the best since Messi. Fucking spellbinding player.

Wow - that sounds a very big call but then I suppose Lionel has only recently retired…
No one is in the Messi category since the likes of Maradona and Pele. However if he can play consistently for us for 10 years, win some PL and CLs and bring us lots of great memories then he’ll be right up at near the very top of the tree for Liverpool fans.

In a year or so, once he’s put these conversations about being a bad signing far enough behind him, you will start seeing highlight videos of his time here and they will be full of moments from even this first half season.

I get people wanted to see more productivity from a player who came in for that price, but it was so obvious from day one what he was all about and his problems always looked far more a team coherence issue than one of whether he was good enough or capable of adapting.

Konate reminds me a bit of Leo Messi.

In the words of our owner, what are we all smoking?

He’s his own lad but the player that impressed me at times in Leverkusen and who I wanted to join is starting to appear.

Even when he was struggling you could see the quality.

He still has more levels to go. He’s going to be freakishly good in the years to come.

Never doubted him!

He’s still finding his way. Hopefully some reinforcements in defensive midfield will make us more tighter and allow both Soboszlai and Wirtz to be the hybrid 8/10s.

We’ve got the making of a very good team(provided we reinforce in the positions that we need), the defence and defensive midfielders. It’s rather criminal to see Soboszlai being played as a RB even if he does give a decent account of himself

In a midfield 3 or box of 4?

Shoes reminded me of this genius (we’ll have to forgive him for the socks) while breaking:

Masters at work.
