He clearly makes Jurgens team. Adds something nobody else does, has the work rate too and is a real Klopp player.
probably, but even then im not so sure⦠i mean, this version ive seen of Wirtz this season gets into any team ive seen us put outā¦
the only one i think youd have to really think on is Jurgens peak midfield, which was just a tool to carry the forward line, not sure how Flo fits in there, but i imagine Jurgen would have well found a wayā¦
We had a few attempts or certain players āadding something differentā (better or worse) to Kloppās team and failing to do so seriously and consistently enough. Some cases were Lallana in 16/17, Thiago in 21/22, etc. Potential? Yes. Because Klopp recently said he had a few ideas how he could make it work if Coutinho had stayed. Wirtz is someone who most, if not all managers would love their club to buy and involve him in their team evolution. But what Wirtz showed so far? Not for me, not enough to break in that side.
Wirtz is a much more physically robust player than either Lallana or Thiago while also having the technical skills, passing ability and vision of both. Jurgen would have adored him and found a way to play him instead of Henderson/Gini etc.
If Wirtz hasnāt shown enough this season then we really need to start from scratch. Not a player in our squad that should be playing for LFC!
No. And also different players. I have no doubt Klopp wouldāve liked the club to buy a player like that (if we judged we needed one, like we did last summer), but on the evidence of this season, thatās not enough to get in that side in my opinion.
I donāt think Wirtz can fit in the 200 km/h football that defined peak Klopp era. Thiago had much greater passing range and also played deeper than Wirtz.
Watching the Palace match, I can see him struggling in our transition game and often slowing down our counters. This is not helpful for a Klopp team.
Had we spent 100m to buy Kvarat and a long-passing player instead of Wirtz, and sold Gakpo instead of Diaz, we probably would have remained in title races.
And if my aunt had balls ā¦
The fact we didnāt and he went to PSG instead suggests it was largely out of our hands and couldnt compete with their offer.
The ball is faster than any player.

We had some slower players even in Kloppās team. They didnāt or donāt all have to be speed merchants.
I am a big Flo fan, but what we are seeing isnāt his level, why?
For me it is how we are playing, today he ended up at the end of the game out wide right and his only option was long crosses. That isnāt his game, which is an intricate passer of the ball and is at his best with players and movement around him, but for us he gets isolated a lot with 3 players around him and coughs up possession, at times too easily.
He looks a shadow of himself on the ball and needs to take a bit from Curtis in having the confidence in his ability on the ball and to try to beat players and turn them inside out as he the ability to do so.
Alonso got the best out of him and would do so again.
Flo also needs to stick out his chest, grow some balls and say I am the man.
Heās far from his best, itās evidently something to do with the team as seen from his international form.
He was fucking shit today
Something struck me about Wirtz leading up to this match. It sounds daft but I often forget heās even here.
When weāre all playing at being a football manager and naming starting 11ās I always pick a back 4, 3 CMās and then the CF and 2 wide men.
Then I look at teams others have posted and think āfucking hell, forgot all about Wirtzā.
This is a player who cost us over Ā£100 million. Heās had that little impact I donāt even consider him.
Ive never seen a player get as many excuses made for him when heās shite.
He was a signing we didnāt need the more pressing option was another central midfielder.
So he could sit on the bench with Curtis Jones?
Donāt think that setup brings out the best in Flo (or for our strikers) so itās no wonder that he gets omitted.
