He’s not at fault when we concede cheap goals every game. No one can deny how bad our team setup is now.
But I think he’s not at the level we expected. Gerrard or Suarez always showed they were two levels above everyone, no matter how bad the team played. Wirtz hasn’t shown that yet.
If you expected Wirtz to play like Gerrard or Suarez, the problem is with your expectations and not with Wirtz. He is not that kind of a player, no matter how much Hughes paid for him.
As for his influence on the game, it’s hard for him to exert any in a team that makes it up as it goes along. I mean, he finished the game on the right wing, trying to get crosses in. If that’s not mismanagement, I don’t know what is.
In terms of mentality, none of the three big signings have that. I’d say closest is Ekitike.
Prime Mane, Salah were like that. Even Firmino but he expressed it a bit differently. Mane and Salah has that 
about them that top players like Gerrard and Torres and Suarez have.
This lot don’t have it. Maybe Hugo does.
A lot of it’s about enjoying the football, the best games we’ve played have been where he seems more effective.
Sadly the enjoyment isn’t there.
He doesn’t have to be of Gerrard’s or Suarez’s type to be(come) a protagonist player here. We had plenty of big, influential players who were different to each other.
I think he showed a lot of promise and some great moments but recently he has been poor and yesterday he was totally anonymous. Yeah he gets moved around and almost never in his best position but he was awful.
Also true the midfield behind him never gives him the ball in good areas.
He looked so timid and scared to get involved. I want our creative player to be demanding the ball and looking to make things happen but second half especially he kind of hid.
Worried to say the least.
I think anyone even those I’ve criticised need to see a new manager.
I’m not demanding anyone be driven to the airport.
He is always showing for the ball but doesn’t receive it early enough and then is surrounded with no passing options.
Second half I dont think he was showing for it. seemed to be running away from the play a lot

I’ll add that when we come to terms with Wirtz, both in terms of players and tactics, re balance, most of the concerns with sterile possession will dissapear…

The type of player he is,can be very influential,but it really helps if he gets the ball a bit,which is not happening enough.
What a weird set of questions from them to create the “perfect player”.
He was looking good a few months back and I was starting to think he would kick on and be the player we hoped.
Recently he has been awful. Hiding from the ball and not trying anything.
I think he´s a brilliant talent and we are definitely not setting up to get the most from him but he needs to do better himself too.

The whole team treats the ball like a scalding hot potato. They must think Konate has asbestos feet because he keeps ending up with it.

They do but he was above that. He wanted it and he wasn´t scared to get on the ball and try things.
