I recall a lot of people mocking him for it at the time, calling him a fake tough guy. That felt very uncharitable to me even then, even before knowing what he would lead this club to and with what attitude.

What is actually wrong with that club. Why do they have about 603 players on their books at all times? The league need to step in and do something about this.
