Good team that… although personally, I would swop out Robbo for Emlyn Hughes… and somehow, not sure how, I would find a starting place for Mark Lawrenson..!
“some memories”

Yeah I’d drop a forward to add another in midfield. Crazy as it sounds, I think this team could go without Rush.
Pegguy Arphexad is statistically our best goalie ever
…never lost a match he started .
I would drop someone else, before dropping Rush… Not sure who though :0)
No one needs to feel sorry for him – he’s financially independent, has played at the very top level in England and Spain, is a Brazil international. It is, however, refreshing to hear a player admit that he made a big mistake by leaving his club.
The club should employ him to come and speak to all the players who are thinking of leaving.
Peggy Asphyxiation, as my uncle called him. It’s actually even better than that. Six medals in only two appearances.
Clemence must have been otherworldly if you consider him better than Alisson! Looking at this, what unbelievable players we had… I wish I could have watched Hansen, Souness and Kenny live - not a slight on the others from that era, of course, it’s just that these three seem to have been otherworldly from bits and pieces I saw.
That said, Stevie is the best Liverpool player I’ve seen and I’m afraid that no other Liverpool player in the future will ever get even close to him in my eyes.
The European cup win in 80-81 saw the tough tackling “defensive midfielder” Souness finish the tournament as top scorer with 6 from 9 games. Those who only know him by reputation likely don’t appreciate just how much of a player he was.
Clemence was absolutely brilliant. He was unlucky to play at the same time as Shilton, otherwise he would have had double his international caps.
It’s hard to judge players from the 70s compared to those of today. I was just a kid watching RC, and I wouldn’t be against Ali, but Ray just gets the nod for me.
When youre talking about players of that quality I don’t think there is a wrong answer, but for the younger or newer fans the thing to appreciate is older fans felt about Clem exactly the way modern fans think about Ali. A record 16 goals conceded in a 42 game league season (78-79) backs up why
Yeah its very hard isn’t it. I just think only 2 in midfield when one is Gerrard isn’t enough. Mo and Barnes out wide and Kenny through the middle are very hard to argue with.
Always love listening to Crouchy. I’ve read both of his books. He’s the guest on “The Overlap” in the latest episode. I am tagging the Myth Busting part in the YT link, but you can play the entire clip (1+ hour).

Same on Emlyn, yeah.
But did he ever score a header away at West Brom?
Gutted. RIP Kevin.
