Former players and managers - general discussion

Not sure how it’s going improve him. There were some really talented guys in the Liverpool set up more suited to a guy taking a job with limited resource.

There were whispers of ideas like TAA playing more centrally in the second half of 2022/23 being Lijnders’ work. He’s always looked like someone obsessed with football, so I can see him working well with Guardiola. That said, I’m always disappointed whenever one of people associated with our club moves to that den of mercenaries.

Don’t see it either. He couldn’t win the Austrian league with RB Salzburg. That says a lot imo.

Well he couldn’t last 3 months I think that’s even more damning.

His first role was a bit of a poisoned chalice considering where they were but…

I had a second thought, i mean … thinking of Heitinga.Must have been weird at first as well. But look at him now, you never know what something might be good for. We’ll get over it.

It’s much more down to fans’ perspective than something weird inside the industry. Certain fans think that a Heiting would never be part of the coaching staff at Liverpool or Lijnders at City. Why exactly though? For most of them it’s much less tribal and dramatic. Sure you get a % of situations where people reject opportunities that are totally against their will. But for most of these movements, my advice at least for the newcomers in following football is: better get used to it.

Since no one went for the obvious I’ll just say Pep hiring Pep to be his number 2 makes perfect sense to me.

Things like these make me wonder what the reaction to a Liverpool captain becoming manager of Manchester United would be…

I am shocked and really disappointed Pep is going to join Man City so soon after leaving Liverpool, one of our MAIN rival clubs.

Our club needs to remove all the photos with him in it with a pair of scissors.

He’ll get a good reception at Anfield next season🤨

If it was Stevie G I’d be delighted to be honest.

The thought occurred to me a while after I posted it.

Would also fit his penchant for getting the money from sportwashers I guess.

One of my ex-girlfriends did that when we broke up.

Clearly a “woman thing”.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will receive a €20m (£16.9m) signing on fee for joining Real Madrid.
