Xabi is destined for greatness as a manager.

His knowledge of the game is second to none. Has built a huge network through the clubs he has played for.

Class on and off the pitch.

Someone who has won everything in football. Players will want to play for him and he will make them better.

Isnā€™t it a bit too much, too soon?

Isnā€™t this season his first as a manager, of the youth team? Itā€™s going to be a very big step up.

Rock them like a hurricane :fist::pray:

Be interesting to see how Alonso gets on, Germany is an interesting choice, wouldnā€™t surprise me if he succeeds in that then he is a name to consider when Klopp stands down.

One thing about any manager who takes over wonā€™t have the no league since 1990 to have to cope with. The jobs mantle is big even without that.

I really donā€™t use social media much, but Iā€™ve recently started following Luis Garcia on IG and I think he must be the most liked footballer in the world. Itā€™s a sad part of adulthood to realize that these top players you idolize are not in fact all mates away from the pitch. Except for Luis. Itā€™s really surreal to see that every post of his on IG is full of mentions from other top pros, some of whom heā€™d have only played with for a very short time.

He had one yesterday commenting on the time he got stupidly sent off and ended up missing the Cup Final against West Ham through suspension, and then up pops Kluivert saying he knows how Luis feels, and Cisse saying that we won it for him anyway. You think that how every footballerā€™s IG feed would be, but it isnā€™t.

When you see the way Garcia and Agger act with their quietly, well spoken, respectful ways but still fiercely passionate devotion to LFC it makes it all the more confusing that Michael Owen is an LFC ambassador and they arenā€™t. Would love both to have some kind of involvement with the club.

Is Luis not anymore? Im positive he had some sort of official role for us in the east, but that have could have been linked to his time playing in India and Oz and cancelled once he went back to Spain to retire. But yeah, his public support of the club is pretty touching.

And his song is still one of my favourites. :+1:

I might be wrong on him although I donā€™t remember seeing him do anything with the club for a long time. Heā€™s doing his badges anyway so more likely heā€™d be interested in some form of coaching role to learn from Klopp etc. anyway. Pretty sure Agger has no role and that guy literally had LFC and YNWA tattoos all over his body.

Agger owns a sewage company called KloAgger (ā€˜kloakā€™ is Danish for sewer) here in Denmark. Pretty successful by all accounts. He has a couple dive bars just outside Copenhagen as well. He seems kinda disinterested in football in any kind of professional capacity.

Maybe itā€™s because they are not English and not as well-known globally?
