I’ve heard one of the Anfield Wrap guys (Gareth Roberts I think) tell a story of staying in the same hotel as him. Followed him down the stairs for breakfast. Joe apologised for moving so slowly, his ankles didn’t like mornings. This was when he was fit.
His time at West Ham and early days at Chelsea he was pheniminal, then Chelsea sacked Ranieri and brought in Jose who insisted that Cole play out of position on the left wing and expected him to track back to do extra defensive work to cover for Lampard thinking that sort of stuff was beneath him. Sadly then the injuries hit and he never really got on top of them and would only get 4-5 game runs before braking down again
Probably an absolute nonsense story off the back of him being subbed at HT. I do wonder what he believed his role would be there when he moved though, maybe something more akin to the freedom he gets with the Netherlands. Then they go and sign Messi to play with Mbappe and Neymar and the poor fellah is going to have to run his arse off even more than Klopp asked of him here.
I don’t think Gini will be at PSG more than a season or two. He’ll probably end up back in Holland playing for Feyenoord or someone. He’s gone from playing for a team that’s 6 times European Champions to a team who have never come close to winning it. The grass isn’t always greener, apart from £300k a week maybe.
Yep agree. Sad for Gini if true but good for us - sends the message again to any of the lads who may think about moving on that you don’t leave Liverpool voluntarily when you are in the first team: “Coutinho and Gini made the mistake, don’t join them”
Think it’s unfair to Wijnaldum to put him in the same level as Coutinho. He didn’t have any back problem, rather broke his back till the last day with us.
He was 100% professional up until he left, still not sure about the stuff afterwards, seemed ill advised, but I don’t think that was the point, more that both have them have allegedly regretted their decision to leave despite whatever success they have or will achieve elsewhere.
He was indeed and I wanted him to stay. He should’ve taken the contract on offer, but players have agents in their ear all the time and his wife probably fancied living in Paris.
Has Rafa been sacked yet?
The mistake Gini and his agent made in taking their contract demands to the table…
Was thinking it would cost the club £50m to replace him, so why not save that and put some of it in his new contract offer…
Little did they realise in negotiating with Mikey Edwards, he had already asked Jurgen to promote young Harvey Elliot to the first team…
They can’t - will need another player to join them above 158 goals first.
Oh you’re right. My bad.
Oh you’re right. My bad.
Nevermind, you can say this instead:
Hope Mo and Sadio kick Michael Owen into the bottom of the Top10.
“Out of the top 9”
On the bench today came on for the last 4 minutes
It looks like Agger is coming out of retirement. Registered for Køge as a player after an underwhelming start as manager.
look at mo’s goals to games ratio. exceptional. 1.61 v 1.91 for Rush. ( I would have ssumed Ians would have been better
Shaqiri with a great goal for Lyon tonight.
