Former players and managers - general discussion

Aurelio and Garcia have been putting in some beautiful crosses.

Looked away for a few minutes and Barca scored.
Our boys had a few more great chances, but Barca’s 55 year old keeper was amazing.

Babb gives away penalty Rivaldo 2-1.

Top corner. No chance for Dudek.

How did Baros not score there.

Milan Baroš missed a sitter!

Even more pressing…

when did Downing become a LFC legend?

Carra has his shirt tugged in throughout the match.

Needed someone to make up numbers?

Hmmm, what’s happened to YNWA to our players?

Good luck to him.

Better than Phillips?

Some things never change.

It’s weird that Aurelio can play in middle age when he was permanently crocked in his twenties.

So Barca won at the Bernabeu and Anfield with a few generations in the same week, talk about statements.

:joy:

Loved Chapi’s tactical involvement, I don’t think he sat once during the whole game.

Agger looked fantastic, wonderful coming out of defence with the ball, but also left a man free when Barca had a corner! That Carra, Hyypia and Agger trio at CB was nice to see in the first half. Them 3 are a top quality combination if you took them all in their prime.

It was funny seeing Rivaldo abandoning the left side like all those years back under van Gaal, tucking inside in that little Messi pocket. Davids was also at RCM, thought he would’ve been at LCM instead. Giovanni played well for them, also their 55-year old goalie!

Loved Carra’s little free kick detail when Rivaldo was preparing to take one, immediately thought of Olympiacos 2005.

Baros was a bit head down, a million touches, crashing into crowds of players, not great in those few chances, classic.

Stevie, what can you say, quality. It’s like he exactly positioned himself as one of the two #10’s he plays with his favourite Christmas tree formation so far in his coaching career. I do think he was also looking a little bit for the penalty.

Kuyt was very solid, Luis Garcia was also pretty good, I think he’s been one of the better players in those legends games.

Diao was slow as a t*rd, nothing new, Downing was scared of his own shadow, nothing new either. Babb, Enrique and McAteer are probably lucky to be running at this point of their life.

Great to see and hopefully it’s something it continues every year.

Liam Millar left Liverpool after five years with the club last summer, and the 22-year-old is now thriving at Basel and part of Canada’s historic World Cup group

You know, Aurelio was kinda forced into retirement. He could’ve easily played at least another 17 minutes if it weren’t for Rui Costa and Fábio Koff.

Well, it could have been El Hadji Diouf or Julian Fucking Dicks.

Haha
Apparently Sven asks the Queen if she liked football and she said ‘not really’ then he asked ‘who her favourite player was’ (weird follow up question in the circumstances but Sven always seemed odd) and apparently queen said ‘Michael Owen, because he looks so clean’.

I’m guessing thats because he looked like he sweats even less than Andrew… Weird fetishes these royals
