The public demands answers!
My German friends have fooled me very well, it seems…
In fairness, plenty of native speakers of English have trouble with them too.
‘The boy done good’ etc
That’s where I was going with this, it’s like that meme where an English speaker apologises for their poor German, and the German speaker apologises in perfect English for their poor English.
There used to be a facility where you could go to the opening post in a thread and see who who the biggest spammers, I mean contributors, to that thread were.
What happened to that?
Go to the first post, under all the likes etc there should be replies users etc…click on users and it shows you the users of that thread and a number on their profile showing how many they have made in that thread .
Gracias!
Bloody foreigners
Sorry @ISMF that it might ruin your weekend but seems like someone is spamming the forum with loan links.
Has the website layout changed on this site? I know have a column on the left with a list of headings, starting with Topics, my posts etc.
I think that’s the menu that was somehow set to be shown by default.
You can close it by clicking the hamburger icon in the top left corner.
Thanks alot. It happened when I was using the laptop, but, not on my mobile phone.
Has anyone else run into a change in behavior of how an open thread behaves when new posts are made in it?
It used to keep you where you were and add new posts for you to scroll down to. It now seems to move you from your current position on the last post read to the newest post at the bottom of the thread. In a busy thread (like a game thread) that can require you to scroll through 100s of posts to get back to your position.
i thought it was just me… But I honestly could not tell you when it first started. What browser are you using?
Mostly chrome but sometimes safari. Seems to happen on both.
The other wrinkle is when you scroll back up to where you left it and start going back through the new content it will have often have lots of new posts missing that you dont see until you manually reload the page. And I dont mean posts not yet added to the end of the thread, but ones seemingly randomly missing throughout the thread
I don’t think it’s a thing that’s unique to these forums, as another Discourse-based forum that I use occasionally (well, for one thread, really) also has these issues.
