General IT Thread

I will reply here as to not derail the original thread.

I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile but I’m genuinely striving to find the best value in TWS market (got my first TWS almost five years ago - the level of improvement of the technology in the meantime has been staggering). I’ve not had any issues with hearing loss or ear infections just yet, thankfully.

Like @redalways said, that segment (especially sub-200€) has been dominated by Chinese manufacturers for years. Pay attention to that because they will sometime use advanced codecs like LHDC that not every phone manufacturer supports (Windows doesn’t natively support either LHDC, or LDAC).

I’m currently using Oneplus Buds 4 and Moondrop Golden Ages 2. I would recommend the first to everyone but those who buy the top end earphones - I’ve honestly run out of superlatives, especially at the price I paid (60€ via Aliexpress). Golden Ages 2 are not as user-friendly (no wear detection, chunky case, parametric EQ that has quite the learning curve) but their sound signature is pretty much neutral, so they can be tweaked to your liking. Took me a while to get the hang of them - they sound amazing, which is to be expected from a company that specialises in Hi-Fi equipment.
