Over four years and we’re still talking about distractions and austerity budgets. Is so mad.

Macron’s meeting with party leaders was big news here in France yesterday , but sadly , and despite the clear and present danger that Russia poses , as an election issue it is way down the list of concerns for your average voter. Of course that makes the prospect of a presidential run-off between Le Pen and Melenchon (the most likely scenario as it stands) doubly alarming for those of us who take this stuff seriously.

More here from Le Monde on why Macron felt the need to lay it on the line ;

Why Macron is warning against risk of Russian hybrid warfare in France

The French leader brought together presidential candidates and party leaders at the Elysée Palace on Friday for a confidential briefing on the evolving threat, as suspicious attacks and incidents continue to multiply across Europe.

Unfortunately it is just more talking with no substance.
Macron is just riding on this. He’s been doing this for years now. Where is our military production?
The private companies refuse to raise it. The only response in the situation we are in is to bring them into state control imo but the state are pussy footing around because we need austerity (something that Macron is behind). The whole of Europe needs to wake up since long time.
Macron trying to remain relevant doesn’t help anyone or anything. He’s trying to influence the upcoming presidential yet noone gives a fuck, let’s just let fishermen burn crates on the highway.

Wow, he looks to be even more popular with his people than Kim Jong Un is in North Korea

I’ve never quite understood why dictators bother with fake elections. It has that whiff of weakness about it, in that they clearly know that their behaviour is not acceptable, but they don’t have the courage not to give a shit what anyone else thinks.

Yeah, it is sort of pathetic.

Sums up the government of South Africa. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

They’re doing it wrong.

If getting paid by the hour, they really should have a couple of holes in each of the scoops

Russian hybrid war, I rarely post about that despite it’s high intensity. However, this story is something:

FFS, read the room:

Is there any possibility that they could strip this clown of his nationality? After the ex-BND chief was arrested for spying, you really have to start questioning some of the vetting procedures.

Maybe he’s being allowed by the German government as a way to keep the conversation with Russia going.

All countries have certain diplomats etc that they use to maintain an off ramp.

Even countries like India and pakistan for example.

That is a good point. It’s always good to have some bridges left, even when tensions are high.

They couldn’t even get an expulsion from the SPD when they tried, failed at multiple arbitration instances.

In South Africa. This is not sustainable for the working class in general. The future is looking bleak.
