I spent only a day on the west coast, because I was in Costa Rica for a work event and had limited time, so it was a flip of a coin which coast I would spend time in. 
The sunset was very nice, felt like some Windows XP background image.^^
(I was less enthusiastic about the crocodiles under a bridge, I have absolutely zero death wish)

To be perfectly honest.. I haven’t visited Bohinj (Boheen) yet. I know it’s lovely in the summer, not too hot, fresh air and brilliant for activities..

Since you’ll be in Bohinj, lake Bled is around 20 miles away. Lovely as well, bigger, more commercialized, fine dining, a whole lot of stuff to enjoy your day(s).

It’s a pocket country where you can be on a beach and 2 hours later on 2000m mountains. Or rafting on a river. Or camping at lake sides. Or enjoying a fuck tonne of wines with very different flavors (depending on province). All this is doable in a single day. 
Some cities still looks like relics from socialism, slowly improving. Meanwhile nature is really nice.

You can take a train up the Zugspitze, no need for any real walking.
