I’d be very interested in seeing how that works out, seems Milan fans have turned on him a bit but particularly a few seasons ago looked electric.
Depending on the fee could be a useful gamble for them.
Interesting a good few years ago when age and potential development was still ahead of him, but really not surprised no top side seriously came in and took him recently. For Villa, might be worth a punt, considering they’re losing a lot of players and might lack a bit of cutting edge in forward areas. But I thought he’d end up in Saudi or Turkey.

Has anyone you know suggested a possible reason for this, out of curiosity?
I watched a video essay on it a little while ago, think it comes down to a perceived lack of effort, only turning it on in flashes. I don’t know how fair the criticism is, but that seems to be what their fans think.
BBC has a piece about Watkins on the verge of leaving and poses the situation in the headline as a cut they didn’t see coming. That seems odd to me as Watkins has been trying to get a way out for about the last 5 transfer windows. The piece then explains how much Villa have been planning this summer for his potential exit with him having even trained by himself for large portions of the time since he returned this summer.
Even after reading the piece I have no idea WTF they are talking about.
