Hmmm sneaky of you there, which looper and more to the point, which amp?
Well a looper was suggested ages ago on here somewhere and I always thought it was a good idea. My recent practice has only reinforced that idea. So thanks to whoever suggested it. Sorry I cant remember who it was. I’ve picked up a Digitech Jamman Solo XT. I’ll probably never use it to its full potential.
Amp will be the Powergrid Spark. For me it offers loads of amp and pedal modelling in one little box. The compactness is perfect for me. But it’s the practice features that are the real selling point. It offers loads of helpful features. If it were for gigging, my thinking would be different.
Guitar wise I’m no closer but there’a no rush but I do see some really tempting stuff out there. I could easily buy 4 or 5 guitars tomorrow.
You’re welcome
Wel if I knew it came from the EU i’d have never done it.
Seriously thanks.
I’ve learnt you’re really growing on me by the darkness - not the solo.
This week I’ll be mostly learning Day Tripper…not a song I’d choose but my tutor says it’s a good one to learn in terms of getting cleaning notes by only hitting one string at a time.
He is working out Is it just me by the darkness for me as well.
Sounds like you’re in a good place, and coming along nicely. Always good to have a tutor pushing you along but also keeping you interested with new stuff.
I’m getting desperate for the amp now but I need to be patient. Just a couple more weeks.
Song wise I’ve been working on Midnight Blues, Gary Moore which is a nice slow 12 bar blues. Happy to say that I’m slowly becoming more comfortable in improvising in different keys. Still a long way to go but it’s starting to make more sense now. When I have the amp and looper pedal I can set up the rhythm track and work even more on that.
One thing I’m not sure about is whether I should work on learning the solo note for note. I’m leaning more towards doing my own thing to be honest.
Separate Ways, another Gary Moore track next, and then to spreading my wings a little.
Do your own thang mate, you can only sound best like yourself.
the girlfriend bought me a guitar for christmas,
aint got a clue how to play it, but looking to forward to learning how to…
Hope she likes simon&garfunkel!
Come across this recently. The guy seems to know what he is doing on the guitar and it looks slow and clear enough to see his finger placements. Anyway, hope it is of use.
Canadian guitar gods
Haha, brilliant, but your guitar before mine
Gladly. They are better than me. Especially that little bugger with the delay.
The last one was good with that pushed clean/crunch tone and delay.
That’s the little shaister I’m talking about. He needs to shake off his U2’s Edge attitude.
Immensely effective, but technically redundant but hats off to him, a thoroughly nice guy, an inspiration really.
I actually think he’s very good but purely from and originality perspective. He has created his own very unique niche and is a total one off. I can really get behind that.
That little bird is one step removed from him, cocky little shit.
Said the same thing in different words!
My bad, sorry
I like his work on Joshua Tree, thats where it really came on. I had the t-shirt in the mid 80s, they were the coolest band in the West, and had only heard one song!
Just a few tracks here and there for me but I had a friend in Uni who was nuts about them and he was his no. 1 guitar inspiration. But I still have massive respect for what he does though.
I have those exact same feelings with Van Halen the band and the man himself.
