I can’t afford it.
It’ll be over £1k.

No choice but to save and contain oneself.

Ive just checked ebay for a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp, they have gone up used price by £150-200 during lockdown; they were at £650+ now over £800. Bastard virus. Apparently hobbying is one thing that has boomed curing Covid.

PRS se, custom 24. Wider fretboard. I have one with a roasted maple neck in fire red. A beaut.[https://www.thomann.de/ie/prs_se_custom_24_ca.htm]

Tell you what else has gone up…stack systems.
Bought mine for £150 about 5 years ago - Technics - amp, tape deck. Graphic eq, CD player, radio, turntable and speakers. Immaculate condition.
I need a new turntable as mines ok but hinges have always been broke on lid. You should see the prices going from £100+ for the SL-J90 model. Crazy. If you want to buy the hinges they are £99!

People just started collecting vinyl have realised these portable record players with a built in speaker are shit.

Nice guitar…

Whats your fav @Barnestormer and @Noo_Noo ??

I certainly wouldn’t go near the white one. IMO cheap Floyd style trems should be avoided like the plague. A guaranteed path to hair loss IMO.

Can I say none of them?? They are really just not my style these days to be honest.

Like your liking of going back to vinyl my guitar taste has also drifted to older traditional styles.

You can say what you like mate. Im not offended in the slightest. The White one is a tad bright isnt it.
Id like to buy a different guitar for every song I play haha

I actually love white guitars. Back in the day I used to drool over a Gary Moore video of him playing a track called The Loner live in Stockholm (I think) with a white Charvel. I so wanted that guitar. So much so my first guitar was an awful strat copy, in white. That video is on Youtube. Just fantastic, his phrasing, varying vibrato, etc.

it’s just those budget Floyds that put me off. Bitten once, never again. They are simply a pig to keep in tune, so much so that you daren’t touch it or you end up blocking it off or something, which defeat the point. A luthier might be able to do something with them but it just seems a false economy fixing a brand new guitar.

these days I seem to drool over old beaten up Tele’s, strats, Les Pauls, or anything that isn’t too funky. Simple designs etc. for me now. But I also have a sound / tone in my mind which I’m after.

The black one, but if you are having an Ibanez, there are shit loads used on ebay. They dont hold money very well, unless its a Prestige RG or top S.

I did exactly this when I got into guitar, had 3 Ibanez, which have now all been sold. Its a well trodden path, and even though these look the part, there is a lot of hidden quality goes into making a guitar ‘sound’ good. You’ll realise as you progress its about getting that Q sound, and the more you go the more expensive it gets.

I think you would be better served with an Epi LP, it will endure for longer. But hey its all up to you!

So is the Ibanez you are thinking of selling better than the 3 I posted?

Hard to say to be honest, especially without playing. I’d certainly prefer it I think. A more traditional finish but I also suspect it will have a fuller sound, probably more sustain and more options for tonal control (2 volumes and a tone pot).

but if you want easier access to that full on fuzzy metal tone then those links you posted would probably be better. The necks on those will also be faster if you if you have ambitions of full on shredding. Mine will still do it, Marty Friedman of Megadeath used one.

I really don’t want to lead you one way or another to be honest as I cant say how those guitars sound and play or exactly what you’re looking for, especially from a tone perspective.

Thanks.
I dont think ill ever be able to shred if im honest.
Seems miles off at the moment.
I just want a guitar that sounds like 80s rock/metal guitar as I like a lot of so called “hair metal”

I’m not sure why my wife doesn’t understand this! At least one guitar for every tuning, haha!

Mine will certainly do that but no trem obviously as they were kind of popular at the time. Here’s some more info.

there’s a few vid on Youtube of them as well.

Nice colour

I had an 05/6 RG FM the build quality is good and pick ups too.

One trick pony though! If you do go full hair metal, please dont adjust your clothes sense as well.

In all seriousness Ibanez’s are good value, that’s how I ended up with mine.
