He was booked for this.

Ref has no class.

Arguably the most idiotic rule in football.

But also inarguably the dumbest way to get a booking as it is going to happen 100%

I thought it’s OK if you aren’t bare body.

Got to make sure those sponsors get their moment.

It’s to stop people taking shirts off because the sponsors are on the shirt.

And to cut down on political statements. Few if any refs would object to a show of support to the 96, but it is incredibly unfair to ask the ref to make an on field decision on what is an appropriate political statement and what isn’t.

Well they claim it’s the political statements and that it insights the crowds, because it’s in the laws of the game all the way down to the level I’ve played and reffed in.

Cant be inciting those crowds can you…

Its making a rod for your own back allowing political statements, and the red shouldn’t be charged with deciding what is and what isn’t a political statement. so no qualms with the booking.

Don’t know if I’d use the word idiotic in this case. Calculated earning of a yellow for a show of support to a hurt community.

Worth it.

Great from Elliott.

Ref has to book him - I personally don’t blame the ref. The yellow card is for the shirt coming off not because of any message that’s underneath.

Class from Elliott though I love that. :heart:96

Joe Gomez had 1 season at Charlton before signing for us at 17 where he played 24 games - that would be equivilent to a loan deal.

I think the key point will be when Elliott comes back in June, does he want to stay and fight for a few small minutes here and there, or does he want to go and get more regular minutes somewhere else?

You mean identical to what Elliot is doing? My point was he doesn’t need another loan.

I would 100% prefer him not to go on loan.

The vast majority of our player who have gone on loan haven’t really come back.

If you’re good enough then age won’t matter.

I think Elliott could be a solid option off the bench next year.

Think it will depend on a conversation he’ll have with Klopp.

He obviously isn’t going to start but if for example he is going to be in his plans for rotation and the 70 minute sub slot that Klopp loves (think Ox/Shaq/Origi) then he should 100% stay.

If he is just going to be a cup player and not much more he should go on loan but he seems the sort of player who picks the ball up and runs with it… no fear. We have been lacking that from midfield for a while… a positive player

If Klopp keeps him with the squad, he should give Elliott minutes with the senior team. Not the team made up of fringe, bench-warmers, and kids; he should be playing with the core/regular players. Whatever minutes he gets, he gets in games that matters with players who count.

It doesn’t only helps a kid, but it also make them fight harder. Gomez, Trent, Curtis and Neco all evolved that way.

Think he’ll be the next involved after the first 4 for the 3 starting roles. Due to rotation, injuries and tactical tweaks (not to mention impact substitutions) I see him having plenty of game time, few starts too.

We might keep him here next season to play Europa league football.

For me he is not like a normal youth player. Personally I wish he was available this season. Good enough to play on merit, not just to gain experience.

Much prefer to see him play than Origi, Shaq, or 15 minutes here and there for Ox.

He is clearly a top tier player in the making.

Ah, fair point. I thought you ment Elliott shouldn’t have gone on loan this season - my bad
