Harvey Elliott (M/AM) to Villa, apparently (initial loan)

100% agree with the above, and would add that doing them a solid now will help smooth a potential future move for Rogers. Arguably the outline of that future deal has already been agreed.

They’re skint

Yep PSR. Cost into next year.

and would image a loan fee of 5-10m… to add to the £35m. Plus no wages this year.

Loan to Elliot means that he can’t play against his parent club while still being able to play against other clubs.

Strengthening Villa might mean our rivals take a hit too. Emery is a very good manager

This is the thing Villa fans get pissy about they aren’t skint. The rules hogtie them.

And the shit result/ umpiring last game of the previous season.

Anyway, good luck Harvey. You will never walk alone!

Rogers in the coming months

More chance of Brendan

Where, if Wirtz fails or Szoboszlai becomes a RB?

:joy:

Long term Salah replacement maybe?

In the coming months the window will be closed.

You can negotiate for a Jan transfer, like we did for Virgil

So did this happen or what?

I think we’re doing Villa a massive favour by giving them the player now, but allowing them to delay the fee until next year. I think the reason we have done that favour is because we expect it to be reciprocated.

That would be a bit naïve tbh. Recent events have just underlined that you can’t trust anyone in this business.

I think we’ve got the £40m we wanted for Elliott (including a loan fee) and done the right thing by the player. We don’t need the cash now, so there is no harm doing another club a favour, especially as we like the look of their prize jewel.

It’s a bit cynical to think that at ownership level there isn’t a bit of back scratching going on.
