The you tube videos of his goals before he signed for us got me thinking he would do well numbers wise. The range and quality of the goals he got was impressive.
My only concern would be like we saw with sturridge sometimes, his movement away from the box sometimes leaves us with no one in that space.

Asssume Arne will be somewhat angry.

I hope this incident has an effect on Ekitike and brings him down to earth. He’s shown a few signs of lack of judgement in social media posts etc and he needs to learn that he’s nothing without the team.
He’s a young man who’s just got his dream move and it’s got to his head a bit. Nothing that a talking to from Robbo wouldn’t fix.
I miss Millie in these situations.

This is such Gold that I will forever remember it.
I like how he reminded us of his own moment of stupidity, the red card in the derby. That was a nice touch and tells me a lot about him.

He is young, and he’ll learn, not least because Slot no doubt had a word or two of wisdom in his ear.

I really love how we have few players in our team in last few years who have that maturity, discipline and modesty that the young players can learn from. Most of them are also captains of the national teams and having such leaders have been an edge for us.
Hendo and Millie earlier, Robbo, Salah, Virgil for now and eventually it’ll be Dom and likes who will take their place. One of the other reasons I was so happy for Salah and VVD signing those extensions for the off the field role model aspects other than the obvious talent they have.

Yeah, he’s a relatively young guy who ended up getting a little bit carried away. He’ll learn. He’s got a lot of level-headed guys around him and his apology shows he understands his error.
It’s not like he deliberately ran across the pitch to kick an opponent or get in the referee’s face.

Would have been funny if his apology justified it on the basis that he thought the ban would only apply to the next round of the cup - so Isak would have to play that, leaving Ekitike to be given priority for the league/ CL games around that time
