Hugo EKITIKE: 2025/26

Maybe appearance monies are greater than squad monies..!
DD might have boosted the lads bank balance

I’m not sure, but isn’t being called up as a sub considered as a reward for a player? He also gets money for it, isn’t it? Yeah, it will have been disappointing for Ekitike to play only sixty seconds, but maybe he’ll think that it’s better than nothing?

Both him and Isak remind me of peak Sturridge.

As long as they aren’t as injured as much.

I really love this guy. He just doesn’t seem shaken by anything. You have to imagine we were up front with him on our other transfer plans when negotiating with him, so imagine evaluating your next steps where you imagine its going to be a big leap forward in your career and being told he will hopefully have to compete for time with Isak and thinking ā€œyeah, I can do that.ā€

This made me laugh but only because I cannot imagine you mean the same Anatoly (Anatoli) as that name is used to referenced in my circle in ways like that

Anatolii Novopismennyi, a legendary Ukrainian power lifter

I presume he was referencing this:

Yeah, I was recently listening to a podcast with Rory Smith (Men in Blazers I think it was called) where he said that he thinks our plan may be to move to a system that sees more on pitch rotation/ movement amongst the forwards - something that Isak and Ekitike appear well suited to.

I can only assume both him and Isak get to have that healthy competition with each other taking both of them to a new level.

And we absolutely look to have done the no dickhead rule done right.

The regrettable car incident notwithstanding.

The way the game is played at 100mph these days, compared to the recent past, footballers, no matter how fit they become, will struggle to keep the intensity over 90/95mins in a game.
Add on to that, games are arriving every 3/4days… it seems the tiredness, or running out of gas in the latter stages of the season, can most certainly be attributed to the miles that players put into their legs over the earlier months.
As the CL final arrives in the very last game… one way to keep the players reasonably fresh, is to swop them out as often as possible during the year… This way, it looks the sensible thing to have two or three players taking ā€˜shifts’ to ultimately, keep them fit.

Slot: Hugo can play off the left

TAN Forum: This is a lie. He has not played there before. How can you say this?

The scouting report on this guy was ā€œlovely player, but unreliable in front of goalā€. He may just be on a hot streak but he’s turning that on its head. He was pretty quiet today but he had one chance, one he created with a great run, and buried it

Rio Ferdinand:

ā€œEkitike is class, no doubt. Like Sesko but Sesko’s taller, and colder in front of goal. When United finally click, he’ll be scoring goals people call glitches. Panic buys ruined us before, but Sesko isn’t panic, he’s straight destiny."

Was he this confident while saying this though?
