I hope they get a point v Chelsea….
However funny we find it they are not going down, I expect fuck all from them but I wouldn’t be down if they beat Chelsea.
To be honest I would not trust him to even put out the cones !!
I’m not sure sacking Duncan off will change anything.
He personifies their thuggish cunt ways but removing him wont change anything as the problems are too deep rooted in their fanbase. It would be the equivalent of using cough syrup to treat genital warts
True. But the continued association with him highlights what’s wrong at Everton.
When we fell back to Kenny (after the Roy fiasco) it’s wasn’t just because he was a club legend. He was a great footballer & manager and commanded respect for his on & off field character and accomplishments.
Duncan is just crap. If Everton is relying on him that means there are loads of crap
Duncan is a symton, not the cause though, so removing him won’t change anything, merely reduce it
What does Drunken Disorderly actually do?
I’m not sure, did that happen while he was still at Rangers or had he moved to Everton? Rangers got rid of him because of the head butting incident and the pending prison sentence.
Amazing really how the world of football is so warped.
In the majority of industries the thug would have been cast aside and would struggle to get a job.
Let alone a job where he probably earns a few hundred K per year.
The fans have been like this since the 80’s, when we dominated everything. Everton had their brief spell of success, then Heysel happened and English clubs were banned from European competition. Everton fans claim they were the best team in Europe at the time (deluded as well) and they’ve never got over it. Mike Walker signed Ferguson on loan, then Joe Royle signed him permanently, for his ‘dogs of war’ squad, to save them from relegation.
The ‘dogs of war’ mantra has remained to this day and seems to give Everton fans an excuse to behave the way they do, Ferguson is symbolic of that era and attitude.
Personally, I hate the way Everton fans behave and their aggressive, horrible attitude, relegation can’t come soon enough for me.
Yeah, he’s a symptom, but removing him would be a symptom of people at the club trying to change something. As long as he keeps his function, it means that the club doesn’t want to go at the roots of their current problems. I’m a bit surprised that big personalities like Ancelotti or Rafa failed to get rid of him.
I think it is probably down to poor squad options. Some clearly have ego problems. Then I wonder if there is also a coaching problem - who joined his coaching staff, anyone new or is it just the people who were already there?
From memory, I think most of Dunne’s red cards were last man back/ professional fouls (he wasn’t particularly quick), and the odd tussle. Viera could be a bit dirty with his tackling but was often trying to wrestle control against the likes of Batty, Ince and Keane types when things often got a bit tasty. Ferguson on the other hand just liked a fight, and wouldnt think twice to use his elbows.
Paco (De Miguel) is assistant there, (along with big Dunc).
Other than that, I don’t recognise any other names, particularly looking for those that worked at Liverpool.
This!
I suspect Rafa hates working alongside Ferguson every day, they’re poles apart as human beings and intellect. It was probably against Rafa’s wishes, that Ferguson remained on the coaching staff, with the Everton board insisting that he stays.
This guy being in charge behind the scenes has not helped them one jot either…
Should have stuck to his role in Coronation Street :0)
Saying that they aren’t quite as bad as Arsenal defensively or that Man Utd team we saw but they can’t defend for toffee (ironically).
Doesn’t surprise me at all.
Still hope Rafa will get a point vs Chelsea on Thursday.
Well, it’s harsh on Rafa, but it would be entertaining to see Ole at the blue wheel…
