Tought you guys said Everton has no money to spend.
They have plenty of money to spend. Their issue was not around availability of money, but on not having much room under the FFP capping limits to spend it.
Well they must have found a way around that

Yeah, they’ve probably realised that keeping the spending down now to keep within the spending criteria of a body whose competition they are unlikely to compete in for the foreseeable future isn’t worth treading water with a shit squad.

I cant remember if they were already breaching the cap or if they had space within it ( I think they may have had space to spend £30m?).
There has been talk of Digne joining Chelsea this window, so we could see one in, one out for similar fees.
Like Prolix suggests, there may be no real penalty to breaching the cap if you don’t intend on playing in European football competitions…
