He knows what it would be like to work alongside Ferguson and didn’t fancy it :0)

He said he’s got no interest in managing a shit side sliding into oblivion, so he’s going to stay at the soon to be third tier Derby.

Actually not surprised, it was my first feeling that he will probably reject the job. See out the season at Derby (even if he has until 2023, but who knows what will happen with Derby), see what happens there and then with Everton’s rate of changing managers… that job will be available in the future.

“3rd tier” sadly they will be lucky to be any tier but yeah credit to him, says he recognises he had a lot to learn quite refreshing compared to Lampard and Sherwood.

Lampard had an excellent career as a goal scoring midfielder. He might even be as high as third best during his time, after Gerrard and Scholes. As a manager?

Derby for five minutes. Didn’t prove anything.
Over-promoted at Chelsea. Former player, so got the nod as manager. Did a poor job.

You would imagine that 10 or more of the current premier league managers could get Chelsea into the top four, given their resources. Not Fat Frank though!

So he is going to Everton. He has had a silver spoon in his mouth his whole life, and he is going to a down-to-earth city where they don’t suffer fools and can see right through a person. Add to that the impatient Everton fan base. That’s too kind of a way to say it. They are toxic, no doubt about it.

As soon as a couple of wonky results come their way the north-south divide will open up. Lampard will never be loved there, as he’s not good enough to win with them. And he will never be loved there because he is not one of them.

Popcorn, is right! Watching the entertainment unfold across the park will be a treat for us reds.

Derby was interesting one, looked brilliant at times but Mount and Wilson seemed to lift a team I believe they had another couple of PL loanees if I remember it was about 7 at the time.

Then it fell to bits in the run in, Derby missed out and possibly will become a great what if.

Chelsea he promotes youth due to the ban and they look half decent, cheque book arrives and it’s basically spend spend spend no idea of building around what he has to shape a team and only Mount seems to have survived from the lads, it’s also seemingly getting older because of it.

Sacked and now we arrive at Everton in free fall and in trouble. Question is everything he has been involved in is short term, In comparison to Gerrard you feel Lampard is in a hurry. And Unlike Gerrard he hasn’t won anything and hasn’t really shown anything.

Fails this one and it could be curtains for his career even journeymen managers have one or two jobs to big themselves up on.

If he takes them down I doubt he will stay but his next job isn’t going be PL.

Alternative he shows he actually has some managerial skills and I doubt he is getting much for funds even if he is confirmed as manager eithier now or in the summer, might work for him with less expectation then again the fan base.

I wonder if this is the sort of club he will be prepared to stick it out at, as I’m not sure how much demand in the premier league for him there is - he was linked with Palace but I can’t remember what happened with that.

Yeah I just don’t see much demand, if he stays up and gets the mid table he probably buys himself a couple of seasons.

I guess we will see, I actually thought he would be a decent manager and his start at Derby didn’t surprise me but I think he let it go to his head.

I don’t see him and Dunc getting on. In fact he strikes me as exactly the sort of person that Ferguson would love to plant head first in the middle of the training ground.

Also doesn’t have a clue on how to organize a defense. Tuchel worked with the same defenders that Lampard had and immediately got them defending better as a unit.

Lampard is in a rush to get Southgate’s job… so any shite club will do as a stepping stone.
The fact they will probably end up in the Championship this season or next, will not be his fault you see because the club was in such a mess when he took the job on…
Wow I’ve just prophesied the exact words he will be spouting when he is sitting with the FA Committee pushing for the England role…!
