I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Wait until they come to Anfield next month. I’d be expecting us to become the first team to score double figures in a Premier League match.

@SBYM Might suffer from road rash in a sensitive area if that happens

The great Donny van de Beek, who “should’ve started for United”, but can’t perform for Everton:

I have no idea why they brought both him and Alli.

To be fair, he’s playing for a relegation-level team. Whereas at Man U… oh wait.

Keane is shit , Coleman is shit… They sold Digne and then get two midfielders on panic deals.

Also, the sacked in the morning chant.

Bet Fwank wishes he gets sacked now.

I refuse to believe Everton will be relegated, because I’ve been disappointed on the two occasions, when they escaped it on the final day of the season, against Wimbledon and again against Coventry. I was actually at Goodison for the Wimbledon game, in a professional capacity, so you can imagine how I was feeling at half time, when Everton were 2-0 down. Then Wimbledon ‘mysteriously’ conceded three goals and my hopes were dashed. I then had to endure Everton fans dragging Tony Cottee into the Winslow pub, while singing about “ hanging the kopites one by one, on the banks of the royal blue Mersey”.
So, for the above reasons, I’m not getting excited……….yet.

They also got a left back.

I was just saying this the other day. I went down to that match with my uncle who was also a Red and two Evertonians who were friends of the family. We had a really good day out regardless of the result (which obviously suited me as I didn’t think we would win). Many other people seemed to have a similar arrangement and it was closer to a carnival atmosphere around Wembley. I just couldn’t see that happening now.

That “great” comes from a few matches in the CL where the whole team played above their abilities. Van de Beek is a limited box to box player who as so many … from Amsterdam think that they are something special.

A club from the Championship is where he should be.

Rant over … :joy:

Everton is as bad a fit for VDB as United is. I think VDB will do a pretty good job in the German, Italian and Spanish Leagues though. The EPL might not be for everyone and there’s no shame in that.

Doesn’t show how dire the other players are though if Donny gets a middling score of 6.4 etc for Everton and the Tottenham team still trashes them 5-0.

The rot started from the top.

Since Moyes left in 2013, they have had 7 permanent managers and Ferguson and Unsworth have each been interim managers twice.

They have a terrible combination of several bad traits:

  • They prioritise “passion” over talent. The biggest tick on Lampards CV was telling Klopp to fuck off. How Ferguson is still at the club is laughably bad.

  • They have no vision. Short termism has lead to a patchwork squad. Many of them terrible signings. Who would sign Alli when your in a relegation fight ? No leaders.

  • They have overinflated opinion of their status and level. From the “what would Everton do?” To sacking managers every year who don’t meet expectations :grimacing:

  • Rose tinted glasses of the Moyes era (most of that time they were shit).

I honestly believe they will get relegated this year they have no fight. And worst of all none of their players look like they care.

Moyes left Everton to turn Manchester United to Everton and Everton to slowly slide down as well…into relegation

What a 10 year plan, Should ask if Moyes perhaps was a boyhood Red.

To be fair I don’t think Moyes is particularly to blame, he got more points than several managers since and wasn’t really allowed to buy anyone.

Anyhow if it wasn’t for the first 5 games under Rafa, Everton would be bottom, 20 games and lower in the form table they sit in the positions 18-20.

And Rafa got them the win against Arsenal. There is no way Fwank would do that

Rafa Stats at Everton 19 5 4 10 19 1.00
Fwank stats at Everton 5 1 0 4 3 0.60

Played Won Draw Loss Points PPG

And Fwank had a team which had some signings done , had key players come back from injury etc etc.

And Leeds with that very publicized defensive issue was the team that was beaten by Frank. The same team that has the second lowest goal difference in the league. Rafa would have beaten them too. Anyway, Fuck them… They can cheer for the heart and character etc etc all they want and claim that that’s what matters…but End of the day is that they are getting relegated and their best players in Richarlison/DCL/Gray would be leaving. Prickford might wanna leave as well but no one is really going to take him in the first place.

And even if they somehow avoid the drop this season, Their "star"talent would probably still agitate to leave.

Their current results only vindicate Rafa, I think. Shit club with shit players, Championshit is what they are.
