I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

At least they’ve got the on-the-field results to justify it.

Displayed at the match the other night… The Blueshite Legends Banner
Anyone remember the great Landon Donovan (17games)…? No, me neither

Club captain Coleman praised the efforts of the group when speaking to EvertonTV. He said: "It’s amazing. The amount of hours that have gone into it - 150 hours, I believe - is incredible. It’s a great honour to be on there, to be amongst so many great players and it’ll be great to see it on the Gwladys.

“It’s always a nice touch when you look over and you see something like this at the Gwladys Street - it gives the players confidence going into a game.”

He was Moysey favourite that was only ever on-loan

For a club who have had some genuinely legendary players it seems an odd pick.

I was looking for Neville Southall, but then I realised he took up the whole of the reverse side of the banner.

Maybe Donovan paid to have it made :0)

Don’t knock Big Nev! He’s a really great guy.

I would have thought Dixie Dean would have been classed as a legend. Even Gary Lineker as he was a World Cup Golden Boot winner as an Everton player.

I’d have thought he’d have been the first name on the list, especially for a club that brags about knowing its history.

No Holy Trinity either as they were called… Harvey, Ball and Kendall…!

He also won the league with them.

But we all know you don’t have to win trophies to be a winner

Or lost the double? I still remember going to the the 1986 Cup Final and expecting us to lose. I travelled down with two Evertonians which made the trip back somewhat interesting.

Which Beatle is that supposed to be in the bottom corner.

So many actual legends missing on that.

Weird seeing Peter Reid with hair.

:joy:

He actually looked like the future-kind in Doctor Who.

Richarlison :rofl::rofl:

& is that Pienaar in the corner there getting his face dismembered?

And why is Roy Keane and Fabinho either side of Baines?

Everton never fail to embarrass themselves. For a team with a such a history, much of it in living memory of middle aged people, to have more than 2-3 players younger than the 85 title winning side is a mockery of their history.

Surprised Pickford isn’t on there for assaulting VVD.

Err. No he didn’t. He was only there one season and they finished second to… us. That was a glorious season…doing the double by beating them at Wembley as well…

Kind of semi related seeing as Linekar finished top scorer 2 years in a row before leaving for Barca (one for Leicester then the following year for Everton), but Rush amazingly only finished as the league’s top scorer once.

Interesting.

I thought he had 2 seasons with them and won 1 league. Guess my memory is not what it used to be

They had Gray, Sharp and Heath up front. The sold Gray that summer to make room for Linekar to what I remember as a lot of dissatisfaction from the fans, despite Linekar having been league top scorer for Leicester the year prior.
