He is a 30-year old player, buy option was not huge (4.5M) but Dyche didn’t have him first on his team sheet and they are facing real constraints. No real surprise there. I thought he was only on contract to the end of June anyway, unless I am wrong they may make him an offer on a free
They do indeed, Jarrad Branthwaite. Currently on loan to PSV, they should be looking to bring him back as a starter - otherwise I don’t understand what they are even doing.
Pickford signed a new contract with Everton a few weeks ago. But no doubt there was a certain clause included in case they got relegated. I also see him staying now.
To be fair, that seems like a completely achievable window. I expect Neymar has already been on the phone to Dyche offering to buy out his own PSG contract so he can play for free under another bald headed genius.
There facing a charge that says they spent over 200m above what they are allowed to. Let that sink in no other club (even if you remove the Chelsea and Man City managed to do that).
And yet football seems to continue to believe oh well sure they can find a spare 4.5m. Until they start selling they won’t be buying.
And even then I expect their quite clear rule break to be decided this summer.
Maybe - I’d say he is at the margins, maybe low table PL, maybe a CH club trying to get promoted. Not a long contract though, either way.
A lot will depend on whether or not Lopetegui stays, Coady is not a particularly good fit for his style. Another manager might see value in keeping Coady for another season.
I said this previously, but I genuinely believe they’ll go down next season because they’ll have no money to invest. No individual in that squad could be sold to generate a significant amount of funds needed for a rebuild. They’ll be scrapping about looking for loan deals and free transfers again.
We’ll see what they do this summer, but I actually feel they might be more solid next season, not in such danger as they were this season. Sometimes, you don’t need billions to make a few in/out moves that make sense, together with Dyche having a pre-season and getting them even more organized. Though that means still lowering expectations for a lot of Everton fans.
I feel like people say those kind of things every summer, but the reality is that most clubs coming up from the Championship in the last decade or so not named Norwich have actually made a pretty good fist of it and have at least been in contention to survive until the last few match days.
I reckon they’ll surprise many and finish 12th, you have to take into account there’s only about 7-8 points difference between 12th and the relegation spots.
