I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

What’s the collective noun for these people?

Jerkoffs?

Sad news but somewhat inevitable…

Yes, it’s rather depressing. That is real fan culture down the drain.

Walked around the Vetch in Swansea a couple of years after it had closed and there were 4 pubs really close by, all had gone bar one and that didn’t look hopeful.

Will be interesting to see what happens to the 3 remaining pubs around Griffin Park, although the local council did originally plan to build a housing development on the grounds, so hopefully they will survive.

Vetch turned into a community garden then again it took forever and a day for them to do that.

As you say, it was inevitable the Winslow would close when Everton left Goodison. Unfortunately, there’s probably a few businesses on County Road, on the brink now as well.

[David Ornstein] Jack Grealish suffers suspected stress fracture to foot - concerns injury will see Everton attacker miss months rather than weeks. Prognosis clearer after 30yo sees specialist in coming days to assess problem; major blow for England int’l

Impossible to know for sure, but my feeling is that he would’ve been left out anyway. I think Gordon is certain, Rashford probably goes and then there’s not really enough room for Jack + you have a third alternative in other players who can do a job on the left.

GOODISON MEMORIES: We were 2 down to spurs at home and over the tannoy came “can Mr Paul Turnbull contact the nearest steward, your wife has gone into labour”.. someone in the Glwadys Street shouted.. “Poor b@st@rd, he’s had sit through this sh*t and now he has to go home and cook his own tea”

Moyes confirms that Grealish will miss the remainder of the season.

Maybe a case for the pubs to be allowed to move close to the new Everton stadium with reasonable rents etc etc. The club can even subsidize if need be.

In my 20s I worked close to Bramley Moore and many a Friday lunchtime was spent in the Bramley Moore pub. It was a rather run down dockside pub and every time I have passed it in the intervening years I have been surprised to see it was still open. Good to see it has survived though and now its future looks secure.

They were celebrating ‘Dan Gosling Day’ on WSAG yesterday, bless them.
A bit like us celebrating Andy Carroll Day…
