I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Oh I agree. Just think it’s a bit disingenuous for anyone to suggest he has to work because he’ll struggle to get by on his pension.

I don’t really understand Mourinho whoring himself out to Paddy Power, but I absolutely get managers who want to work as long as possible and get that anyone in any job will want to get paid as much as possible regardless if they need it or not.

I love this bit:

" The Spanish tactician was filmed by Sky Sports News arriving at the club’s USM Finch Farm training facility following the agreement of a three-year deal with Everton. Arriving in a black people carrier with blacked-out windows this morning…"

First, what the hell is a “people carrier”? Are they referring to a car? A truck?

Second, does it auger well when you have to sneak your new manager into the training facility to avoid the enraged lunatic supporters who don’t want him.

Strange, super-slow-motion managerial appointment.

I haven’t seen anyone saying he needs the money. I think for Rafa, it’s a combination of two things he really needs to do - work and be close to his family. I can’t begrudge him that. It’s not like he’s fucked us off for the Ev. We clearly don’t want him.

Luckily then no-one here appears to have actually suggested that…

Yes, it’s a car that has a lot of space and is sometimes almost like a mini bus, aimed at big families.

Better than using a horse trailer, presumably. Are they ever going to admit he’s their manager? What will they say? “We’re proud to have lured to England one of the best managers from the Chinese Super League.”

they’ll come a point when rafa will take points off of the big teams(except us hopefully), would like to listen in on rafa getting them a win vs city which guarantees a title for liverpool.

Just making sure everyone know that he is a very rich man.

The way I see it is that we are lending the bitters one of our own to inject a bit of class so that they won’t be breaking legs when we play them and they stop rolling on their bellies for the Manchester clubs.

In reality, he is taking one for the team.

Yeah, If Rafa can get the footballers to stop being thugs and drag the fanbase from their stone age thug supporting mentality, more power to him. And if the rabid cunts(who form a %age of fanbase) stop supporting everton over this , sll the better

It will be like me tolerating everton when martinez was the mgr.

Maybe Rafa has a cunning plan, to finally make sure the bitters get relegated.

It’s gonna make my stomach turn to see him with a blue scarf on.

thats it for me in a nutshell.

why? just why?

apart from some kind of dying ambition to manage again in the premier league (which im sure if he waited itd happen again anyways) why go to THEM?

surely it cant be lack of funds, or proximity to home?

if they were his true motivating factor then its actually een more baffling…

you dont make a commitment like managing a premier league club becuase its ‘near my home’…

come on Rafa…

Even if he did that though, I doubt he’d be on FSG’s list of potential successors. He was great for us 15 years ago, but probably not the guy for us now.

For his sake I hope he does well for them, if he can turn them into a top 6-7 club that’ll be a great success in my book.

But we’ll see if he’s there long enough to create some foundations, I’m guessing he needs to get things right from the start.

Ancelotti could not bring them to the next level so I doubt Rafa can. At least he will not send them on the pitch to kick a few reds into the hospital.

I feel the same.
