I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Thats how it all starts. A taste of the blues here and a taste of the blues there. And before you know it you are piss drunk in the middle of the stands at Goodison shouting about how Pickford is the best keeper in the league, while your loved ones sit there wondering where you went wrong.

Fuck , please no… we are just enjoying their so called rise before they flunk back to being content at #8

You don’t do that when you’re drunk. You do that after escaping from the infirmary.

Or if you become a blues fan. Follow along. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Last time Everton won its first 3 league games of the season they avoided the drop on last day of the season.

Sadly it looks like Bolasie’s career is over. Certainly at Everton he’s been told he’s not in their plans (but can continue to train with them whilst he finds another club).

An incredibly talented player - I remember him causing us all sorts of problems before his injury.

Go back to Palace.

Early kick off Derby right after the international break.

Thiago and Mané could be back but we don’t know if they will ready to start.

Tbh I’m afraid more of our players will be positive until then.

And also Alisson, Fabinho and Firmino won’t return to Liverpool until Friday.

It’s played at Goodison, right? I’d take a draw under current circumstances, especially as it was the outcome of the corresponding fixture last season. If Liverpool were full strength and Ancelotti decided to have a go (which he won’t), it would be a whole different story.

I can’t see why more of our players would test positive? Surely the whole squad would have been tested regularly.

Also James Rodriguez and Allan would be in the same boat, I would assume they get back on Thursday.

I think Thiago and Mane will be fine, I know Mane recorded some symptoms but Thiago will have out of isolation for 4-6 days before the game.

I think it will be a carbon copy of the last few games, maybe Thiago will be the answer.

From the good old TiA homepage:

The trio play in Peru on Wednesday evening and are not expected back at Melwood until Friday, less than 24 hours before kickoff, when they will take COVID-19 tests with the results not likely to be known until the morning of the match.

I’ve a suspicion a lot of players will pull out of international squads or clubs doing it.

I can also see the league being suspended soon as cases within the squads hit 10 last week.

Just thought if they are playing 1am on Wednesday it’s actually earlier than England’s last match and they usually jet back early morning the following day.

Saying that Everton are in the same position with Rodriguez and it’s not like they are not used to returning. Covid is Covid but that’s going be the case for every player on international duty and even those who have a fortnight off.

As for Covid it will take a mass break out in my view to cancel a match and it doesn’t seem to have led to any league being stopped, I noticed a few games have been postponed this week I think the idea will be to manage it, it seems likely than Mane and Thiago picked it up independently and away from the club.

It’s why fixture congestion could be the biggest impact mind, probably A blessing we didn’t much bother with the League Cup.

I’m thinking of backing the Ev for the Carabao big time btw.

  • we have two positive players. The others could have been negative in the last three days but positive tomorrow.

Also we dont know how safe our players will with their national teams.

  • James, Allan, Firmino, Fabinho, Alisson. They arrive back on Merseyside less than 24h before the game. Basically they will be playing with a jetlag. Very dangerous in terms on injuries IMO.

  • the next EFL Cup games are in late december and only three more wins to win that competition. That’s nothing with a squad like ours tbh.

Just seen a supposedly ‘funny’ video for BT sport showing Calvert lewin with Virg in his pocket…I don’t think so…living in LA LA land and of with the fairies…

I think “The Big Six” are now “The Big Seven.”

Or “The Big Six” has replaced Spurs with Everton.

Do those two still get picked? Don’t seem to have figured the last time their countries played. I’d imagine Mina and Richarlison will go as well?

Was speaking to my Evertonian brother last night and he thinks that their good start to the season is down to the fans not being on the players backs. I’m just astonished at this moment of self awareness. I’m still not sure why he supports them. I think every family has an awkward sod.
