I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Would have no problem if Everton push Arsenal, ManU, Chelsea or Tottenham out of the Top4 for one year. Carlo will be sacked during the next season anyway.

Their confidence is sky high at the moment. I think Ancellotti has been putting pieces together since arriving at the club, but u can see Duncan Ferguson has played a role here, especially in the Calvert Lewin development. Allan and Doucoure are also doing a job not to mention Richardson and James on either wing. This is probably , actually the best line up they have had in years in terms of functionality.

Ancelotti sorting them out slowly but surely. Fair play, shows the quality of him as a manager.

Ancelotti used to be very good in Cup games. Wonder if he would attempt to win the League Cup or the FA Cup. Would do wonders, provided he actually manages to win any, to motivation of players and fans.

They’ve obviously clicked well and fast. In these cases, we have to see what happens when the surprise factor diminishes and opponents start to read/exploit more what they’re doing. Not like they are clicking to incredible levels, maybe they’re also surprising themselves how well it’s going at the moment, spontaneously. Although it’s also what Carlo is good at, in fact, one of the best. Still too early for me for some big predictions. They’ll probably improve, but how much? That is the question.

Then our chant “you haven’t won a trophy since 1995 “ becomes redundant we can’t have that. :joy:

Carlo is a world class manager. His influence was bound to have a positive result at some point. It cannot be sustainable however due to a lack of squad depth in quality. When the opposition take Everton seriously, reality will normalise. A Leicester City season happens once every…well…never. So let us allow them to eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow…

The problem with this analogy is that they have Ancellotti and what looks to be the beginning of a spine (minus Pickford).

The way Allan and Doucoure play has been quite effective and its really where they build a lot of their attack from. To be honest don’t know if we can judge the palace game too much with the pen and everything. But i think their midfield at least looks so far something to be observed.

Sad thing is I would say the Palace performance was more indicative of where they are and how far they’ve improved.

I think a fair few of the 20 could have beat that Spurs team on the opening day.

Calvert-Lewin 8 goals in 5 games.

This lad is improving nicely, adding more goals to his game since last season.

It is fun following Everton this year. They are actually quite good. And I have to say that I am loving it. The derby’s will be much better this year, we will actually play a team that can hurt us. Beating them will feel better. I wouldn’t mind if Everton took the place of one of the usual suspects as a Top 6 team. It would be cool if Liverpool could be a city with two very strong teams. I don’t see them as having a good enough squad for Top 4, but they are an interesting Dark Horse for Top 6 indeed ! And damn me, but I hope they achieve just that. Would do the football rivalry a hell of a lot good.
