It’s not clear how Rafa would have used him, but to be fair to Everton it’s not easy in terms of squad building to lose a player the way they did with Sigurdsson.
I would not be too disappointed if they beat the arsenal tomorrow night.
Will be interesting seeing how it plays out. The pundit I was listening to (can’t remember who it was now) suggested perhaps Rafa is making a power play behind the scenes and will be granted more control.
I love Rafa, but that would be the wrong move. It might bring them short term improvement if he can get a couple of players he specifically wants that Brands wouldnt get him, but the game is too big now for one man to do it all, and it isnt in the club’s best longer term interest
I’ll be delighted.
It would be easy to think that based on Rafa’s history to date but I would hesitate to think of it as a power play this time round. There clearly was an issue given the sums spent and quality at the club.
It’s too early to know but I would think Rafa is simply trying to build a proper structure around himself, rather than looking to do everything himself.
Where is it being reported that Brands has gone?
That 27th minute for 27 years is really quite amusing, considering how chuffed they were about Moyes back in the day.
I saw it on the Sky feed. They’re negotiating the financial terms of his exit.
EDIT:
It’s on the Beeb as well. First Ole and now him gone as well. Sad days for all Liverpool fans.
I keep seeing this injuries thing. Who is going to make a difference apart from DCL? Mina may be a very slight improvement at CB but I’d imagine he’s been on the blower to his agent quite a bit over the past few weeks looking for a sharp exit. The rest? Tom Davies, Gomes…not a chance. Holgate is a liability as well as a massive cunt.
Their whole squad is bog standard apart from 2 or 3. Any replacements are like for like. Seriously, DCL is the only one of their players who’d make our squad, let alone our team.
Fuck, what if they get Edwards …
This is what should have been happening. His transfers largely have been shit.
The one I did like (at the time) was JP Gbamin. Really liked him at Mainz and 100% believed he could play in Prem. That said, it’s likely never going to happen for him, injuries seem to have completely derailed his career.
If Everton management and fans get their heads out of their asses and give Rafa some much needed and decent support he can make them a EL contender on regular basis. Now, that’s a huge, huge, if.
Mentioned in todays newspapers that Mourinho is linked with a return to the PL with Everton…
I’m guessing that is just wishful thinking by the Roma fanbase :0)
Well, looks like he’s gone by tonight then…
So, Rafa’s been given the dreaded vote of confidence. Oh dear, everyone knows how that usually ends.
