I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Bet Brands was dreading attending that match tonight

How can he be given full support when there is zero FFP room? Barca are broke, so he can’t fleece them for fringe players.

Pickford is getting in the Christmas mood

Reading about that match, I have just now found out that Everton paid £28M for Iwobi. I sort of thought they got him on a free or something.

The mind boggles.

I think it’s nice. Keeps the Blues moderately hopeful while bitter and puts down Arsenal a bit. They needed a slap given their recent good form.

Don’t really like to point out the obvious. But rafa as a manager is leagues above arteta

Gomes had some good potential and then they bought the likes of lookman and moise kean with no clue on how to use them

I’d take demarai gray too. Especially at the price point everton got him for

Yes, I think there were plenty of us on TIA who were equally surprised when it happened. I had forgotten the fee until you just mentioned it (and even that he was at Everton

I was surprised how negative some people were about Gray in the summer. Not a world beater but more than useful player in Rafa’s hands in the Premier league.

Townsend isn’t on your list who I would rate as a pretty solid acquisition but yep I’m with you. I recognise most of the names if I concentrate but the fees for each are mad

Losing Sigurdsson was a blow to be fair

Reminds me slightly of Ayoze Perez ? The guy had with newcastle now in leicester.

Sigurdson was not being used by Carlo too much though the previous season and his performances have been on a steady decline ever since he joined Everton

But it would def hurt Rafa that he doesnt have Gylffi to pick and James Rodrigues (aka best everton midfielder ever) decided he’d rather fuck off and play for some idiotic club in a lesser league than stay without Carlo

yeah but on his day he’s still a step up in creativity terms than anyone else on the list the @Iftikhar posted. They haven’t replaced that and wont be able to for a while yet.

the James thing was just weird, from when he joined (raised eyebrows) to him leaving as he did.

Most of these names are/were potentially good transfers. But they’ve been signed by different managers with different play styles.

Yes… They did get the inflated price tags though cause Brands was shit at transfers.

Richarlison for example they could have sold when Barca came calling and atleast balanced the books and that was a 85m gbp offer. He’s not even close to being a 30m player.

Couldn’t find a way to get moise kean to play. Have had a good striker in DCL but one more season of this crap and united comes calling and he goes.

Would he go? I mean the threat of Scholes licking his lips in the background and DCL’s fashion choices might be a put off.

He’ll probably request scholes to do that if united keep a bid for him… He’ll be agitating to go for sure.

Yes, a lack of pace in the team and too many similar players didn’t help.
