It does seem an important step. After missing out on Guehi last season despite having personal terms agreed I would hope the club is more prepared to get these two deal over the line. Would be the start of a bad trend if we keep getting players wanting to play for us and not actually getting them here because we dont deal with the other clubs well enough.

Mbaye could end up being the jewel signing. He has world class ability. Hopefully Sadio has spoken well of the club and helped steer him here.

Bradley Barcola should not rejoin the PSG squad until the question of his future is settled. Liverpool is still negotiating his transfer during the summer transfer window and should quickly put forward a new offer.

Itās just a (British) football thing. People who played with Rooney refer to him non ironically as Wazza. Itās the part of it I always hated.
I remember walking into training for the first time for Wales U15s as one of the new guys in a group who had largely known each for years. One of the established guys was giving all the new guys nicknames. Nothing rude, just offensive in their inanity if you have an IQ over 100 (which many of them didnāt). I remember him looking at this tall skinny Peter crouch looking kid and said
Him:weāll call you lofty
Lofty:

Iād rather have a PSG Luke Edwards who can spend the next two weeks insisting that PSG wonāt sell Barcola or Mbaye no matter what. We can be sure a deal will be done, then.

If we sign both itās an interesting thought to imagine who will end up better. Mbaye is still a kid (though obviously he has seen some good action, especially for his age). He has plenty of time to unlock a couple more levels with Iraola. Hopefully Sadio Mane told him about Liverpool, and also told him to listen and work hard.
