Ibrahima KONATE: 2025/26

I do understand that, but it really doesn’t appear to be the case with Konate.

Anyway, Slot’s gone now, so I’m sure that Konate will sign the contract that Liverpool put in front of him. I mean, that’s what we’d expect to happen if it’s not simply the club and the player being miles apart? Right?

well, in my personal space, its not.

So he’s staying now then? Now the reason for him refusing to sign has gone? Yeah?

you are nothing if not consistent.

i reckon hes done with this place and Slot was part of the reason the workplace became so tiring

if we offered him another 50k a week he would stay whether slot was coach or not.

now you can pick holes through that to win the internet, or understand it like it was intended …your call.

The reason I can pick holes through is because it’s a spectacularly weak argument.

Slot has be sacked now, so if he is the reason why Konate didn’t sign, wouldn’t it make more sense to for him to stay now?

Isn’t it more likely that the reason for him going is nothing more sinister than exactly what the club and the player have briefed? They are simply miles apart on the contract.

Not everything that doesn’t go according to plan is automatically Slot’s fault.

Just seeing the news that Bradley’s injury might be worse than feared.

Wondering if there is a way we can blame Slot for this?

yes, this is EXACTLY what i said.

Slot is the only reason Konate wouldnt sign for us, should be honky dory from now on.

Slots choice of surgeon?

Liverpool FC can confirm Ibrahima Konate is set to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer.

Konate will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for the contribution he made and everyone at the club wishes him the best for the future.

Konate will be the next one to find out that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.
Don’t want to say he’s been stealing a living here but he’s lucky that Virgil was always available during his time here and he never had to lead the back four.

Thank you for your service Ibou. Hope you join Real Madrid.

Trent and Konate are easily worth £100m in the current market. I hope we don’t let that happen again in the near future.

more! easily £150M total

I’ll try again.

Wish him all the best in his private life and that he stays healthy so that he can play every match.

Dear Liverpool,

Five years ago, I arrived as a young player with big dreams. Today, I leave with memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Representing this club has been an honour. We’ve shared incredible moments together… highs and lows, trophies, challenges, lifelong friendships, and heartbreaking moments that will stay with us forever, none more painful than losing our brother Diogo.

Losing my father this year was one of the hardest periods of my life, but even through hardship, my commitment to this club never changed. During the toughest moments, I gave everything I had for this badge.

To my teammates, coaches, staff and everyone behind the scenes, thank you for helping me grow every single day.

And to the supporters… thank you for your love, your energy, and your incredible support. Anfield is truly a special place, and playing in front of you was something I never took for granted.

I am deeply saddened that I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to all of you at the last game. At that moment, I didn’t know it would be my final time wearing this shirt in front of you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. I love you all and will carry Liverpool with me wherever I go.

This isn’t an easy goodbye, but it’s time for a new challenge and a new chapter.

See you again soon, inshallah.

YNWA

I find it hard to muster more than a shrug, honestly. Thanks Ibou, you had your moments but your consistency was found wanting. Hope you do well at your next club, but I’m looking to the future and seeing who we bring in to replace you.

Tbh i think his form will return to a high standard. This year has been an odd low for everyone and konate specifically has had a lot to deal with in his personal life with regards to his dad. He’ll do well wherever he ends up and as long as it aint against Liverpool im ok with that

Same here. He had two years to work something out and unfortunately had probably his worst season for us at a time when he needed to prove he was worth what he was asking for.

I do wonder who is going to give him a whopping contract that would match our offer. Maybe PSG as Zabarnyi hasn’t managed to displace the aging Marquinhos. Possibly Bayern if they move someone on. Barca and Real love a bosman but don’t seem to have been sniffing around.

Would really hope he’d not consider another Prem team but Arsenal and City don’t really need one, Chelsea probably could do with one but have no European football and he surely wouldn’t go to United.

Think it’s a small pool he’s fishing in and no certainty he walks into the team at any of them.

No, but we can have a go at Martinelli for trying to drag him off the pitch.
