Ibrahima KONATE: 2025/26

My feelings exactly. Was gutted when it first became apparent he wanted to go to Madrid but right now I’d make it 100% clear he’s done at this club. I’d play Joe or anybody else for that matter before I gave this fucking lumbering clown another minute.
The only problem is the bloke who should be delivering the message is a dead duck.

Gravenberch closed his eyes!
I haven’t a clue what Konaté did, I can not remember.

Dangerously close to becoming Lovren Mark II. Degsy was a decent center back and had all the physical attributes, but a brain fart was never far away. Everyone remembers 11cm, but the first goal Aguero nipped in front of him to score when he had time to clear the danger, and a top CB would have done so.

“A bit too much at the crime scene.” Understatement of the century. :joy: l’ll take Gomez all day at this point.

Sounds like we’re going to sell him to Leverkusen…

Is Football Insider remotely reliable? They are claiming that we would ship Konaté for £15m in January if we could find a replacement.

His contract needs to be terminated tomorrow.Don’t wait for January or until the summer. He shouldn’t be playing for Liverpool ever again.

He’s been playing like that for a while, the first goal for Forest, he put the ball out for a corner when he could have easily put it out for a throw in.

According to you we’d have no one left at the club.

My nose is smelling something again!

Why would the football insider have sources? Wouldn’t they be so inside football that they were the source ?

Also what about their stories that carry no mention of a source, are they just made clickbait like everything they post?

He looks absolutely knackered out there, every time he steps on the pitch. Be curious if he’s our latest rendition of Agger playing on medication every week without having any sort of rotation.

Give the lad a rest, see if he rebounds. Trust in Joe.

Van Dijk could use a match break as well, hopefully freshen him up a bit

Grav at #6, swap him out for Endo for a match.

Slot HAS to rotate these guys or it’s not going to get better

Well I followed that story down a rabbit hole until it came to them. I don’t know anything about them, which was why i asked.

Do we still have a list of reliable sources, or more appropriately, bullshit merchants?

I just like to take the piss out of their name.

Part of my politics degree was media and we did a part of a module about trust and sources and I was told that if the source comes without a link such as a “source close to FSG” for example or a direct name or position then it’s made up, the former could be and is more likely now.

I agree with you completely.

At least rotate the squad, to rest those who are struggling and keep those on the outside still feeling part of it.

Same is true of reported %s - be very skeptical of ones that are reported with a high level of precision.

Precision allows to be sued and access to be removed effectively be wary where there is patchy history or no direct evidence

That’s a good point. His clearance for a corner (leading to a subsequent goal) but if, for example, he has a knee or ankle issue, then turning your leg to push it out might exacerbate an issue maybe that’s what he was trying to avoid.

There may be something to the general idea as I recall he was carrying something through the end of last season, but that corner against Forest was just a terrible touch. He controlled it out for a corner from 30 yards away.

I would still rather re-sign Ibou then sell him for a few million in January. Even if we bring in two center backs, we’re still light with Ibou gone. Virg needs a rest as well.

My ideal would be that we sign Guehi and at least one other CB. We end up with a five man rotation - Virg, Ibou, Guehi, Gomez, other CB.

Leoni is going to take a year to recover and possibly longer to find his form again. He’s also still quite young.

But Virg only has one more year left on his deal, and Gomez’s deal expires in 2027.

So, we could be looking at a 2027-28 year with only Leoni left from the current CB rotation.

As such, re-signing Ibou and adding two more CBs is key.

I was at the ground, we were confused why he got rid of it like that. There was nobody near enough to him. He could have controlled and passed it back to Ali
