He’s the type of guy that will be missed inside the group the moment he stops playing. Not saying the moment he leaves the club because we’ll see how he decides to end his playing career, maybe he stays if there’s an immediate coaching offer, which was mentioned a few years ago.
What a guy, Millie.
For a moment I thought they are actually going to kiss each other shudders
I think Klopp and Milner have that bro-luv Suarez & Gerrard had.
It’s my hope, glad the Leeds stuff didn’t materialise and I hope it doesnt
He’s the ultimate professional, I think Shanks would absolutely adore him.
Milner’s the best. Stared down the boss when he was upset. Then hung around to see the goal. Goal happened and he immediately stopped his strop. Tons of respect for that kind of a person. No ego.
Has started three games in a row over 7/8 days. Hugely important player both on and off the pitch. I’d imagine he’ll be rested in the Brighton game (probably Curtis to come in), then he’ll be back in the team to face Shitty.
It’s deffo far more preferable to what we saw a few weeks back from someone else.
Don’t know why we persist so much with Milner at LCM and Thiago at RCM. It’s like we decided by default that our RCM should be the one with a bit more freedom. I’d like to see us change that sometimes. I know Millie usually worked well off the left when Robbo bombed forward. But you don’t have to be a genius to realize that Thiago is best at LCM. He faces the game more from that side, his strongest foot can influence the game a lot more. Mille (had a quality game from RB against Leicester, his passing is underrated) can also help on the right with the balance between Trent and Salah.
Not that I’m disagreeing but in your estimation why do you think they didn’t give that a go?
Four starts over ten days for a thirty-five-year-old man in the world’s most competitive league. Quite astonishing.
With Milner injury free he would run into spaces and provide options. You would find him at times down the left wing, or even coming across to the right.
Before the WH game he had an issue with his hamstring, and the instructions for him at HT were to stay positioned rather than run.
So I have no idea why he was played for the fourth game in a row. Curtis should’ve started with Milner coming on if needed.
I would just give Thiago more freedom and rotate Millie more often (we have Jones) also give Gini more rest if possible the Brighton game was definitely one too many for him.
Seems to me Klopp is in a moment of doubt at the moment (not surprising) he’s missing things and needs to focus on the simple stuff imo.
They did, but a little bit. At times in last games we would swap Milner and Thiago, but for a few games now it’s been Thiago at RCM (better than he was at #6). Longer term, I’m sure he will get that LCM spot. But then we’ll see if that changes something for Klopp and the dynamic of the team. A bit weird to me why our RCM is almost always the one that has to be more offensive. It also happened at times with Keita and Jones. I would hope we can switch that, par example if we had a right footed Salah, we could play his role off the left same as he does off the right. Same with Gini and his more defensive 8 of the two 8’s role at LCM. Put that task at RCM at times if you have talented options for LCM (and you’re defensively well secured on that side with people like Virgil, Robbo, Fabinho and Mane around you - one of the most solid sides of a team in football actually).
That is a great point it does seem that Jurgen is in a moment of doubt
Wonder if he is going to start against City?
Not if Fabinho is fit. Klopp should put Henderson back on midfield.
Who will partner Fabinho in CB.
Kabak I would imagine.
