Both Millie and Gini need a rest so someone has to come into midfield, so millie and Gini can have 45 mins each, I can not for the life of me imagine why Jones hasn’t been used more recently.

If we’re not asking Hendo and Fab to go again, then I’d play Fab in midfield and leave Hendo where he is.

The fact that our intensity completely dropped off when 35yr old Milner was subbed speaks volumes about this guy and his leadership.

I don’t think it was just his sub, which I couldn’t understand, but also the formation hurt us as they were then able to control play more in midfield.
Milner and Casemiro, two old school types who don’t moan about being tackled the way they were.
Once the fuss died down and the game was getting ready to restart, Casemiro jogged back into position had to go past Millie and they exchanged a genuine low five. Not a ref forced “shake hands and move on” moment, but a spontaneous moment of mutual recognition between 2 players who know how its played. It was just a simple, “no worries”, and it was great.

Milner still smashed him back off the ball after that reconcile haha. A true warrior, a huge hole in the squad and team when he leaves.
