This is a really underrated move. Young Ivorian with a world of potential. Atalanta wanted to keep him on loan for the rest of the season but United want him in now.

What is weird thought is that Atalanta never really picked him last or so far this season. It’s been said that scouts really loved what they saw in the bits he’s played so far. Atalanta don’t really play with wingers, but wing backs, number 10’s, strikers and second strikers. Still, a bit unusual that he hasn’t played more for them when fit and available.

Agreed. Was just going to say, with as much fuss as their boss has been kicking up about him joining United now, he sure didn’t pick him as often as he should have. I wonder if he will see many minutes in Ole’s side.

I have to go back and look but I thought the fee agreed this past Fall was closer to £38M. Which would be completely “on brand” (as the kids these days say) for Woodward to pay that much. But now seeing the fee as £19M.
