Marmoush is decent and may have improved the squad, but no where near the first 11.
Smart loan move for a exciting (needs refining) player that was unfortunate picking up his serious injury, particularly given Potter will know him.
Interesting one this. We were linked with him in the window prior to his move to Newcastle.
40m Euros he cost Chelsea…pretty much saw his contract out through loans for five years. Shows (once again) Chelsea’s approach doesn’t really nurture players…the cash offered means players get stuck.
A non-transfer, Alphonso Davies signed an extension with Bayern, ending my (pipe) dream of moving to LFC
Are you his chef or masseuse?

Wasn’t he supposed to be pretty decent?
Gimenez maybe? Need a striker soon, didn’t cost a bomb, Slot knows him etc. Maybe not “damn” but he could have been an option.
Why? It’s a right-sided forward we should be concerned about first, more than anything else, surely?
Is that another goalie
Didn’t we get Chiesa for that? I’m also assuming Salah stays, otherwise everything changes obviously.
I think it’s clear both Jota and Nunez are not reliable enough for different reasons: one is good but injury prone, the other is mostly fit but not good enough. One of them will probably be sold in the summer, should be the latter if the interest from abroad is genuine. So you get a proper reliable striker and can keep Jota as a super sub, that should be a positive for his injury problems too.
This is the one thing that I simply don’t understand, the refusal to take not just Arne’s words at face value, but also his actions. It’s quite clear that where he can, he rotates. Alexander-Arnold with Bradley, Robertson with Tsimikas, Díaz, Gakpo, and Núñez in their little merry-go-round.
He’s constantly restating his belief over and over again that he believes that Núñez is performing as required, just that he’s going through a dry spell. Whether or not that’s true may be debatable, but given that the club has made no moves to replace him or move him out, I think people are just going to have to get over it and resign themselves to the fact that he’s staying.
He just signed for Milan.
Yes, that’s why he qualifies as an answer. @rab was asking about people who did move who could have been possibilities for us.
After Nunez, I think we’ll be extra careful with our next potentially big striker signing from a league like Portugal or Holland. There were some great moves from those places, but some rubbish ones also. Luckily we have a structure in place not to just go for Slot’s ex-players.
I think the league doesn’t matter as much. We plucked Díaz (and indirectly Jota) from there after all. I think by and large our evaluations seem to be quite right, and Arne’s often attributing it to a dry patch rather than him being unable to do it. There’s a reason why our players seem to be rather keen on defending Núñez too.
I wonder if Nunez’s signing was a weakness of Klopp’s for that type of player. I remember when he was at Dortmund they signed Immobile which didn’t work out.
Without trying to compare them too much, he actually crossed my mind at a point where I first started having doubts whether Nunez is good enough for us long term. Every club and every manager will have these moves. Not the first, not the last.
I don’t think signing “another option” is what we probably want or need in that area.
