Jeremie FRIMPONG: 2025/26

If he flops as a player, give him a cheerleader role/wages.

Hope he doesn’t twerk his muscle.

Is he available for selection?

Apparently he is expected back in full training this week. So maybe an outside shot at the bench this weekend

At some point, while Mo is away for AFCON, would like to see Frimpong in the front 3, ideally as: Wirtz Hugo Frimpong

Just want to see how that would work as a combo, since clearly Wirtz and Frimpong know how to work together, and Wirtz and Hugo also seem to be building a nice understanding.

For Leverkusen he tended to play as a right wingback in front of a back three. He’s very fast, so suited to being that counter attack speed merchant.

The problem is that we don’t even have 3 fit centre backs.

Gotta hope that Frimpong finally is healthy - he was never injury prone prior to coming here, so I’ve got hope.

I suspect we’ll see him playing a winger more often than as a fullback.

As a right-back in my day, I’d have to say - I fucking hope so.

Nice to see somebody using their pace in wide areas to beat a man and put a cross in. Pretty encouraging cameo from him today, hopefully he can stay fit now.

And keep his cool. He might as well have just taken out a full page ad in the Echo saying ā€˜I’m dead easy to wind up’.

Must admit that if someone busts my lip on purpose, I would probably want to see the perpetrator severely admonished in an angry letter to the Telegraph.

It should have been a foul, and it should have been dealt with on the pitch, but when it wasn’t he clearly lost his rag and gave Slot no choice but to remove him. He was playing himself towards a red card.

His pent up reaction was spot on, must be as frustrating for players sitting on the bench having to watch so many nasty fouls go unpunished.

So why shouldn’t he make his feelings known to the ref when he’s practically spitting out blood.

A very bright cameo and it was refreshing to see him bring that drive to get defenders back peddling we’ve sorely lacked all season.

Nope. Actually spitting out blood.

It was a really good cameo from him - he looked great in the time he was on.

But he will need to calm down. He was back on the pitch kicking off again at full time - Van Dijk was trying to calm him down.

I was really quite pleased with him up to the incident.

After his lip got busted, i thought Fripong was a right crybaby namby-bamby. He needed get up and get on with it and run through brick walls.

Big surprise, it’s the role he mostly played at Leverkusen…

Their wing backs weren’t used in the same way, Frimpong (more of a simple and direct player) used to play higher than Grimaldo (more of a ā€œplaymakerā€) on the opposite side. Allowing them to flip their defensive formation.

I can see him being useful as a backup right winger, I’m not sure his ceiling is such that he will be a starter in any of the two positions he competes for.

Sometimes it’s refreshing to have a speedy player who can simply get to the byline provide something into the box. Old school.

The thing I don’t like though is when we do this Szobo at RB and Frimpong at RW move. I know last night was a different circumstance than how we started against Galatasaray, but I wonder how Szobo feels about it (we’re genuinely playing with his nerves).
