Can anyone give the precis here? It’s blocked in the US.

Talks about BR wanting to let him go, How he cried when told but decided he would stay and fight for his place. Credits BR with improving the tactical side of his game. Prefers playing the 8 role to the 6. Talks about how he tries to create space for Trent and Mo. How they create a flexible triangle to get Trent high up the pitch and interchange to cause confusion. Winning the CL was the best he’s felt on a football pitch. Winning the PL was a great moment but the fans weren’t there.

Love this

This guy is a cracking captain.

I’m a bit worried for Henderson, he really does look a yard of pace off his usual best. I’d say come next season his time as a guaranteed starter is seriously under threat.

Who are we signing to replace him

Nobody. Promote from within.

I thought Elliot would be stepping up, but since he’s been dropped to the ressies I don’t know.

I haven’t really seen enough recently (due to work) but I was worried about the complicated triangle he plays with Trent and Mo. He’s often too far out to the wing to have the position and influence he has made his trade mark and unfortuneately Trent does not have that ability to slow down counters yet. Just this being that further away would make it seem he’s not as present.
He’s never been the fastest of midfielders however when that bit more central his reading of situations means he and the team are better off.
Off cause getting Trent more central is great offensively however defensively, which is when we judge whether a player is up to pace, it’s not great.

Could be a mixture of Jones and Elliott sharing the load

I think he’s the midfielder of ours with the most minutes this season. Any surprise that he’s a little off? Not that I’m accusing you in particular of anything, I just think there’s a lot of overblown concerns. We need to rest him a little without him losing his edge, that’s all.

It wasn’t a dig, he’s one of my favourite players, I’ve defended him since the TIA days.

He just looked 1 yard off the pace v’s City, which is just the margin they need to exploit space.

Age is a number but 32 in June, he will need his minutes managing to keep up his levels. So it does worry me he’s still playing the most minutes.

Yes, I was agreeing with your observation, but attributing a different reason. Just wanted to make it clear that it wasn’t an attack.

I do agree he has been off at times but no one really in that midfield had a good game.
