Jordan HENDERSON MBE: 2021/22

Henderson has one of the highest mins (2299) among our outfield players. He had a bad injury last season and was injured this season too. All these combined, and considering the fact that he is human after all, I guess it’s normal if he has dip in form.

Looking good again. That through ball was so brilliant for Diaz’s goal. I love when those come off, it requires vision, game reading, player making the proper run and the the perfect execution. I see Keita and Thiago trying plenty of those, Hendo does it less frequently, but often does it pretty perfect.

unpopular opinion , but i think henderson defensively contributes more than what Stevie does.

stevie often made last ditch challenges whereas hendo reads the game better and is in a better position to er…push the oppoenent off the move or to intercept the ball , less flashy but more effective

In hindsight Gerrard should never have been used as a deeper midfielder in the earlier part of his career, he was an unbelievable attacking player. The likes of Henderson and Alonso are/were the more ‘disciplined’ players but that’s primarily because they couldn’t do 1/2 of what Gerrard could. 08/09 proved how ridiculously good Gerrard was when given a bit more attacking license.

I can only imagine how good he’d be in our current system under Klopp as the #8 with more attacking license than the other two midfielders. A 23-29 year old Gerrard would be in contention for the Ballon D’or every year in this side.

I mean, the number of social media “fan favourite” Starting XI that excludes Henderson is mind-boggling.

Hendo is usually brilliant at managing space. Very good at closing off easy passes and forcing opposing teams to try the more risky pass. It’d be interesting to see a highlight reel of opponents losing the ball against us in the past few years and just see how often Hendo cuts off a simple pass for them before they lose it trying a harder pass.

Had a strong start to this season and a bit of dip over christmas, but has also played more mins than any of our midfielders this year.

Rumours of his demise seem to be exaggerated though. Another assist tonight; his sixth of the season - the most he’s had since Klopp arrived and started playing in a deeper role. Seems to be playing much better now that we’ve got enough depth to rotate and rest properly - hopefully everyone stays fit and we can keep him at his best because at his best Hendo is brilliant in his own way. Will be vital for any success we have this season.

Love Hendos attitude, we need to talk of his demise more often, as he then comes back stronger

He and Milner showing the likes of Ox, Keita, Jones, Elliot what they need to do consistently to get minutes under Klopp. Ability alone counts for little.

He is going down at this club as one of our most successful captains and considering the success we’ve had it’s not bad.

Pep Guardiola’s Between The Lines would be something completely different.

Every weekend

Hopefully he can double all those cups up this calendar year.

Anyone got a full video of the Rio and Hendo interview as it’s blocked for Ireland.

His influence is understated, tonight showed it in the bucketload. Yea they had a sending off but we never looked in trouble once Hendo stepped on.
