Jordan Henderson wanted to call his autobiography, which was published last week, “With or Without Me”. ‘That’s how I feel about the trophies Liverpool have won over the last few years,’ he writes in it. ‘They’d have won them with or without me. I’m not Luis Suarez or Steven Gerrard or Virgil van Dijk or Mo Salah. The success is not down to me.’

I thought he was absolutely magnificent tonight. Even his use of the ball, which is rarely the side of the game that gets credited when people speak positively about him, was really sharp.
