Could it be that the Barca fans were close enough to witness that Koeman just did not have what it takes to EVER become an elite manager capable of winning things.! His team selections, or lack of vision, or uninspiring TV interviews, may have been enough evidence for the crowd to turn against him… Not as though he has a CV ram-jam packed with past achievements to wave in their face is it…!
How the fuck can you go from Southampton to Everton to Barcelona.
Always doomed to fail and never going to be a calibre to manage to top club.
For me the only person who gets a pass for a year or 2 at barca would be a club legend like Xavi, but I think they can forget about champions league this year, they won’t be in it next year and we’re yet to see the financial implications that will have on the club.
They have probably got the best academy system in Spain and I actually think this could be a blessing in disguise for them not being able to attract and pay the top players on the planet and having to rely on the kids.
Given Barca’s state, I would think the bigger issue is whether he was good enough to transition the team through the financial problems, not whether he can win the CL.

Aguero gone off injured on 42 minutes and Coutinho on, 0-0 ht.
Looked like G. Pique limped off as well.
Kun is undergoing a cardiac examination. Hopefully he’s okay. Looked quite worrying.
Bloody hell, that’s concerning.
First I heard of it they described it as a chest injury. I had visions of a huge collision, but I’m now reading it described as a suspected heart issue. Did anyone see it?
Several web news site reported cardiac arrhythmia. I have not seen any official statement.
Very treatable, and doesn’t mean it’s a physical heart condition, in other words his heart could be in perfect condition. It’s an electric pulse that makes the heart beat in a specific rhythm, and the electric pulse can initiate via lots of different paths, so if the pulse goes through the “wrong” pathway then the heart beats out of rhythm. The left side of the heart is preferable, while right can be more difficult and in some circumstances can be dangerous. The treatment is something call an ablation where they stick wires (something like that) through artery in groin or neck (for left side), and then trigger the irregular rhythm, and cauterize that pathway. Fixed. If the pathway is between two ventricles, then you out of luck, can’t be cauterized in most cases.
I had it a while back, didn’t fix it for me as mine was between ventricles so they couldn’t cauterized, even though they did cauterize a few pathways. Mine went away in about 3-5 years. I couldn’t do any over exertion as my trigger was coming down from adrenaline (cool down phase).
This is my recollection from my situation. He could be back very soon, or that might be it. My op was a day op, you remain awake, recovery is very quick, I don’t think I even spent an overnight. I had insane bruising, from just above right knee to midway up my right side. Not painful.

Would be quite an unfortunate end to his career if it is going that way. While he played for Man City, a detestable club, but you have to admit that he has been top of his game for a very long time and one of the best strikers in the world and in the PL for the past 10 years. Hope he recovers well and whether he gets to play high level football again, all the best to him.

The challenge is arrhythmia is a symptom that is caused by a wide variety of factors that all have different implications for therapy and prognosis.

Medical team spent months looking for my trigger and determining frequency of arrhythmias. The solution was quick once they confirmed the frequency. I had ablation without them knowing what my trigger was as stress tests stopped monitoring when I stopped stress, and my arrhythmia only started once adrenaline subsided.
Yeah for some like James Taylor in Cricket that’s it for others they seem to be able to play on, Eriksen seems to be trying to make a comeback, there was a lad in the Austria cup who collapsed last week he has had a few operations and been told not to play again.
I hope he takes the advice and looks into coaching sad really as he apparently failed a Brighton medical so he was potentially looking at a good career.
Honestly if it was me at this stage of Aguero’s career, I would stop playing. From a financial point of view, he is not going to lack. From a sporting view, yes I can understand to play for a big club like Barcelona but he has already achieved quite a fair bit (of course he might want to win the La Liga or the CL still) but at the tail end of his career, there is no need for him to prove anything and really now the priority is probably to keep healthy and alive for his family.

its funny, but at the end of his professional career, with the accolades all done, the trophies in the cupboard, the records in the books, maybe hes just enjoying himself more than at any other stage of his career…playing for game for playing the games sake…i mean…at some level, isnt that where we all want to be? enjoying it?
imagine if someone told you youd never play another game of football again in your life…
