Xavi has done ok, I reckon they may win the Europa League.
It is worth pointing out though that in a few games they have started with an entirely new forward line, not bad for a club that is crippled by what is supposedly a transfer embargo.

Athletico beat espanyol 2-1 they get winner on 100 minutes a penalty from Carrasco, Kondogbia sent off on 71 minutes for second booking.

Pique’s role in moving the Supercopa de Espana to Saudi Arabia was highlighted in the first set of audio leaks published by ‘El Confidential’, as his company Kosmos convinced the RFEF to expand the traditional format of the competition.
The issue is his event company were organizing it so he was involved in those discussions as an executive of that company rather than as a Barca player. Even beyond the ugly aspect of moving the competition out of Spain, and then to Saudi, that creates problems. It’s unseemly for a professional football to be putting such involvement in outside ventures. But it’s worse when the things he’s involved in are football related and represent a perceived conflict of interest with his role as a Barca player.

They are both as bad as each other and Athletico are no better.
Atl Madrid will not give RM a guard of honour in today’s derby with a long and winded statement.
Probably will kick the shite out of RM players instead with their sportsmanship.
