2-0, and deserved — Madrid have been asleep.

This has looked similar to Clasicos from 10-15 years ago, when Xavi was on the pitch himself. Real started quite well the first 5-10, but since then it’s been all Barca - bar the odd counter attack from Real.

Seems to me like Real can’t set their press, sort of getting caught in that in-between press that is neither high or low. Barca have managed to passify them with their possession play and also creating gaps to break through. Really good half from them, well deserved lead. They’ve looked like themselves again, which I think is great to see.

Should be a good second half, Real have to set a more distinct press, find their aggression again.

What are they doing? Is it a diamond with Modric at the top?

Wow, Real 0-3 Barca

What a finish! From what I know, I was pretty surprised that Torres left City so quickly, but I guess he wasn’t getting into the side enough for his liking. Still think he’s class.

It’s fascinating that this is now the second time a manager has arrived at a recently good but off the boil Barca, been disgusted by the physical readiness and made huge strides simply by upping their fitness. How many times does a good team have to learn the lesson that no matter how talented you are, you wont win shit if your dont prepare properly during the week?

0-4.

Apparently he just settled really poorly and just wanted to go back to Spain pretty much immediately.

WTF…my stream didnt come back for the second half, I accidentally refreshed it and saw it was 4!

Both teams wearing away kits…Real a brand new third kit that was just released only for this game. Cheeky commentators have said both kits represent what both clubs lean on for strength - Barca the colours of the Catalan flag, and Real, in black, the refs.

Should have been five!

TBF I’m OK with 4-0, no need to have anyone else win a big European derby 5-0 this season.

Madrid lose Benzema and Ancelotti goes full Guardiola changing the system and player positions. The result is a disorganized, discombobulated team that doesn’t know which way is up.

They are being humiliated.

4-whatever-2.

Rodrygo off the right, Vinicius off the left. But Modric almost as a false 9, at times both Modric and Kroos as two false 9’s. Sometimes even Valverde popping up.

Second half they made two changes.

This is fast getting up there with the 6-2 also at the Bernabeu (2009) and 5-0 in the Nou Camp (2010). I remember watching the latter and just being amazed.

Ancelotti always a failed Everton manager

They are but it IS a mark of how many well played players they have stealing a living that Carlo seemingly wants no part of. Just heard Darke and McMannaman talking about how this is such a difference from their remarkable performance against PSG the other week. It’s not. PSG were embarassing them in the first half of that game and threw the game away in a manic 15 minute spell the second they were challenged. It was a game of two teams who seem to think their talent and reputations win them games, and then shit their pants when someone stands up to them.

If I was Chelsea I wouldnt be too concerned about facing them.

Do they not have even another striker to sub in for Benzema? Makes no sense. Why not use Bale! It’s clear Vinicius plays better off a central striker than if he is the focal point. And their midfield looked completely lost. Provided zero protection for their defence.

Chelsea will run rings around this lot. Even if Benzema plays I can see Rudiger doing his shitehouse tactics to annoy him

Anyone saw the two penalties (first one especially) Real got yesterday? Very suspicious, especially in times of VAR.

Bara now up to second after a stunning winner by Pedri yesterday against Seville. Received the ball on the edge of the box and faked out 3 defenders (well, one twice) to make room for a shot that he burried.
