La Liga discussion

He had about 18 months where he was playing well after being reinvented as a CM. Other than that he is one more in the line of supposedly attacking players who were going to help Atleti evolve into a more proactive side who just couldnt mesh with Simione

Gerard Pique is owed ā‚¬80 million by Barcelona but he will collect only the deferred part of his wages which amount to ā‚¬30m, saving Barcelona ā‚¬50m.

Could be in combination for a role upstairs.

He has long been earmarked as a future president of the club, but I think he has too much CoI in his other businesses for that. Or rather, his other businesses that have a CoI should rule him out, but likely wont.

Seville vs Betis really was the derby of cnuts match, the Spanish guy who did our Ajax match was involved, felt for him a bit.

Loved the Sevilla manager who seemed to have knock off club merchandise on

No genuinely, those were his last words.

and one day he will probably become Barcelona president. :man_facepalming:

Apparently his hips donā€™t lie.

Apparently itā€™s common phrase, not one Duolingo teach mind.

Players want Simeone out huh?

Donā€™t blame them imagine having to play like that for a decade.

Looking at Realā€™s first team squad for next season, they will have a very clean situationā€¦ almost a little bit of a short first team squad, a lot of room for some new fresh faces.

They also finished last summer with a +Ā£10m net spend. They are developing the Bernabeu, a lot of money needed to go into that as well.

Of course, some players might/will still sign new contracts, like Modric, Kroos, Asensio and Benzema.

Others, who have longer than until 2023, will possibly/probably leave, like Vallejo, Odriozola and Hazard (Eden maybe already this January).

But this is the ā€œcoreā€ that is under contract and on who they count on:

Courtois, Lunin, Carvajal, Vazquez, Militao, Alaba, Rudiger, Mendy, Tchouameni, Valverde, Camavinga, Rodrygo, Vinicius.

I think Modric almost certainly gets one more year, Kroos also gets a few more years, Benzema possibly another one like Modric. Asensio isnā€™t as key, weā€™ll see if he stays.

They could still renew with a defensive backup like Nacho or Vallejo (less so of course).

They donā€™t have much out on loan, Brahim Diaz could be the only interesting one to potentially have him back for next season. Heā€™s a #10, so position wise itā€™s not something Real play with, but maybe they would have him off the sides between the lines.

With all that, I could see them comfortably signing 3 new players, possibly even one or two more.

:es: Sevilla have terminated Iscoā€™s contract. The announcement will come in the next hours. He will be free to sign this winter, reports @marca.

Barcelona has conceded just FIVE goals in their 14 league games. :exploding_head:

Spain resumes tomorrow

Griezmannā€™s pink hair :grimacing:

This game is falling to bits of course this is the guy in charge.

Neck and neck between the big 2 for the title this season.

Barca currently throwing away 2 points at home to Espaynol after being so dominant throughout.

Fun fact:

Real have started today for the first time in their history without a Spanish player in their starting XI in a league match.

Big deal, we do that often ā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
